57 years after Ellen Ripley had a close encounter with the reptilian alien creature from the first movie, she is called back, this time, to help a group of highly trained colonial marines fight off against the sinister extraterrestrials. But this time, the aliens have taken over a space colony on the moon LV-426. When the colonial marines are called upon to search the deserted space colony, they later find out that they are up against more than what they bargained for. Using specially modified machine guns and enough firepower, it's either fight or die as the space marines battle against the aliens. As the Marines do their best to defend themselves, Ripley must attempt to protect a young girl who is the sole survivor of the nearly wiped out space colony.

The subtitles are in the Dutch language of the Netherlands/Belgium. Subtitles are added separately for the next film. That was no longer the case with Aliens. Aliens was already completely done. Starting over takes a lot of time, energy and money.

They got a bit cheeky there, from what we understand up until now the Xenomorpths were vastly stronger than the humans. Its unlikely that someone ( a woman of all people) could hold one down like that, but whatever its a badass moment so lets just enjoy it.

@jainee4507 well to be fair the Alien was getting shot at point blank range, (while falling) In a very cramped area the Alien could not use its superior size and strength. By the time Vasquez pinned its head with foot (using mostly leverage) it was pretty hurt, possibly already dieing. One might even argue that her smaller size Gave her an advantage in that situation.
@teremin
@teremin Жыл бұрын
@@jainee4507It's called leverage. She stomped it's head against the wall as it was off-balance, while her own body was solidly wedged between the opposing wall and the xeno. Not strength, just physics. Not to mention that she blasted it before it could effectively push back.

Another great last stand is Charles Dutton In the other aliens movie, another one is Bruce Lee in Chinese connection when he does the jump kick into the waiting police firing line, another is the final moment of the battle in the movie Glory when they're all standing there around the flag, another is in Johnny mnemonic when Henry Rollins fights Dolph lundgren's bad guy and his death is implied

The way I see, Vasquez saying "You were always an asshole, Gorman" is her way of saying "I used to hate you. Not anymore, you're one of us now". Also, him coming back for her, and him helping to save Ripley and Newt is a sign of a true marine.

What a kickass scene. The officer that had lost his senses earlier finds his courage and returns to drag an injured Vasquez to safety only to be blocked by sure torture and death in the form of the Aliens. All of the friction between the troops and their commander prior to this scene is rectified when Goerman uncaps a grenade while Vasquez lies injured in his lap. Goerman looks almost shocked at his own instantaneous and brave decision to end both of the lives as he holds the grenade before him, unsure. Vasquez seizes his hand in hers and pulls the explosive closer, giving the appearance of an embrace... Altogether, one of my favorite movie scenes ever. Vasquez, since the moment she appears in this movie, is portrayed as a hard woman, a warrior, Yet this final act is very intimate. Masterfully shot scene, it moves me to tears every time I see it, and I find their mutual end sad, yet very satisfying.

The score is just genius. When they enter the ducts it drives us along. When Vasquez is attacked from above it dives into this disorienting section, while still playing the Films "motive"; da- daa- da- daaaa. When Gorman Returns, he drags her for a short time, and the driving escape drum Returns, just to be disrupted by the shocking Realization that the way is cut off. When they Decide to blow themselves up, the score is Heroic and tragic, until ut all stops, the explosion occurs and the Film as well as the score now focus solely on ripley, newt and hicks

The arch of redemption makes each every character in this movie so endearing. We love them all despite their little flaws here and there. I totally love Vasquez. Her character helps shine a bright light on a military woman whose body is strong enough to be a badass gunner yet whose heart is also tender enough to care for the weak-the injured. Love this masterpiece!

Gormans redemption is one of the best character moments in any story, film or otherwise. After all his impotence throughout the film, he just tells hicks, GO, saves vasquez for a bit, then blows the two of them up, vasquez in his arms and the two fellow soldiers holding hands, vasquez insulting him endearingly. One action, one word of dialogue, and gorman and vasquez become best buds. Fantastic.

Now that's one true Marine/soldier. Their no bullshit never back down kinda attitude is what makes this whole scene so freaking brutal and badass. In my opinion, human marines with such aggressive spirit of a warrior is probably more dangerous than any extraterrestrial hostiles combined in the entire solar system! Great sacrifice shall never be forgotten and Pvt. Vasquez should be honored with a senior Rank and the highest Medal, both in combat and death!

Gorman didn't even hesitate. He waited a beat to hear for a reply when Hicks yelled for her, and when he didn't hear anything back, he didn't hesitate to tell Hicks to get out of of here and that he was going back for her. Also, one of the overlooked parts, I think, is that when he's out of ammo and sees that he's surrounded, he also doesn't hesitate to get the grenade out because he knows what needs to be done. One of the most memorable and heartfelt arcs in modern movies....

Damn. I forgot how defiant they were here as they made their retreat. Vasquez took down a Xenomorph with a pistol as it literally landed on top of her. She was a god damn badass until the very end. let's not overlook Hudson here too. He may have had poor judgement in leading the team in the beginning when they first entered the base, but his final sacrifice reprieved himself by doing what he could so Reply, Hicks and Newt could survive. Aliens is a freaking masterpiece, i love this movie so much. one of the finest sequels in sci-fi history. if you have the chance to see the 4K version, please do so. brings a whole new vision of this classic to life.

Definitely one of the most BADASS Latinas to ever go down in movie history... She was SO strong, fearless, and brave! 💪 It was Vasquez's smart thinking (by retaining ammo in the furnace zone) that ultimately SAVED many lives in the group. But it was also her brash, overconfident actions that costed one of her teamate's lives (Pvt. Drake) and led to her own demise. Can't really blame her cuz she was doing whatever she possibly can to help the others escape. This is the kinda courageous woman that I would trust with my LIFE. Had she paid more attention to Ripley's briefing earlier in the movie, she probably would've understood how to deal with the Xenomorphs better, and possibly could've escaped with the others at the end. 😞

Vasquez is the only human in history that's gone hand to hand with an Alien and won. With anyone else, once the xenomorph is on you, you're dead, end of story. Granted she had a sidearm, but that barely counts for more than a knife in that situation. That makes her the absolutely baddest motherfucker in the franchise.
