Everybody was jumping, screaming, clapping, cheering and whistling!! This movie was definitely a rollercoaster ride, you had to be there to experience it!! Those were some fun times...........

the sounds are so loud and sharp, and the lack of soundtrack for most of it allows that to be emphasized, and these sounds really made this far more riveting then the visuals alone could've achieved -- because although the visuals quality is not even close to today's levels of smoothness, this scene is as good today as it was when i first saw it, I still love it. Anyway, J cameron's one of the greatest, i think it's fair to say he out-did the original, which, back then, must've really taken quite the investment by him to do. Just like t2, it's so old, it's visual level so far removed from modern standards, and that movie is still an incredible sublime experience by any era's standards. His movies don't age. I think Spielberg's the same. Jurassic park will wow any generation that ever sees it. the scenes themselves are so well constructed and deeply thought out. The effort in the details to bring it to life is there.

When I first saw this at a midnight showing the day before it officially opened in '86, before Weaver even said that line, just when the door opened revealing her in the suit, the whole crowd erupted in wild cheers! Did it again with the famous line, and two more times when she back-slapped the Queen down. Back then with no Internet I knew almost nothing about the film before seeing it..

A Xenomorph should have been too fast for the loader. I guess the Queen was injured in some way by the separation from the ovipositor and the journey on the outside of the shuttle, so it was slower and more hesitant than usual.

Gotta take into account the queens stamina level was probably completely drained. After sitting in the nest for such a long period of time (literally not moving) she has to run to the ship, and then proceeds to get wacked hard at by Ripley twice which probably disoriented the Queen as well. I know the Aliens are faster and stronger then humans but they are in lore still living creatures who get tired quicker from lack of exercise and get injured as well.

Considering that she had just dismembered herself (ripping off the ovipositor), had rushed through the collapsing reactor, hitched a ride through the upper atmosphere to the Sulaco, and then had her head bashed by multiple strikes from the Power Loader, and also isn't evolved for combat roles(just like irl ant queens), I don't think it's ridiculous to guess why the Queen didn't steamroll Ripley here.
