Really cool RTS with stellar gamepad support in the Aliens universe. Works well with the only issue being the 2D cutscenes displaying incorrectly, can be solved by just taking your headset off, watching it on your monitor and putting the headset back on for now.
Decoupled pitch, adjusted UI with it slightly offset to be lower is a good sweet spot for this game. Made it a tiny world scale and similar to a Sci-Fi Demeo :)
Performance is good with lots of options and FSR 2.0 on quality and all ultra settings was getting smooth performance. Attaching to the player pawn here attaches you to the blue cursor. Moving it has a kind of animation lag on the camera so not really something I'd recommend trying. Get too low at the Marine's height you can see a the solid face of the back culled ceilings of the tunnels. So keep a relatively strategic distance away. The tiny world scale makes that harder to get yourself in as it looks a bit scuffed.
Otherwise really gorgeous game with nice effects, more than you'd expect in a typical RTS on steam. On a decent -38% sale on steam right now too.

FYI if you assign a key to "Toggle 2D screen mode key" in UEVR's keybinds menu then you can hit that key when a 2D cutscene is playing to view it normally in the headset (I'm using Virtual Desktop on a Quest 3 with OpenXR in case that makes any difference).

Yeah that is a great new feature. Wasn’t in this early build I was using here. There is also one now to detach all your uobjecthook which is good for some cutscenes where it breaks it.

interesting game and glad it works with UEVR. Not to fond of this kind of Alien game with the 3rd person overhead views and having to zoom in and out. Prefer being in 1st person shooter VR games. Not on sale at this time, so need to think about this one if I would like this style of game play. This kind of game play kind of makes me feel like a narrator and not really part of the game action. Thanks! Yeah here to help, so everyone can hit the ground running with all the major titles. Exported my config for this with the camera offsets and UI offset as well and put it in the discord ue-supported-games currently hidden forum for this game to be ready to drop in. The effort required probably to make a specific fix for the cutscenes probably not worth it against just taking the headset off and watching your monitor. Off to London tomorrow to see the Nutcracker so not much over Christmas but will start up again as we get up to NYE 👀

how do you get the game to work with the controller instead of vr motion controls......I cannot figure out how to get it to use my xbox controller while in vr....it works fine in flat but UEVR keeps taking control and giving it to the motion controllers

Put your motion controllers away. I just hang them up on the wall. You don’t need them for anything, the UI is solely navigable with the gamepad.

Very lite. One of the “never played VR before” testers was fine in it. Make it a tiny world scale like Moss and you’ll have to turn the camera less. Play seated with decoupled pitch so the right stick just makes you lower or raise and it is very do able as a new VR player

Busy doing Xmas stuff the next few days but even this morning saw Praydog added support for the motion attachments to ue5, added new UI themes and a bunch of QoL regarding virtual desktop. Probably need to make a ranged build in Lords of the Fallen now. Might be cool with first person and a crossbow or magic with motion controllers 😂

@@BlasterOver you’ll be fine. Jay has a 3060 laptop so if those are the desktop version you’ll be okay. Native stereo games are just like normal VR games you’d play. Lower some res or settings if you need to like in Alyx. Nowhere near the performance hog of a Luke Ross mod.
