Exactly. This was a great review and you can tell they spent some real time playing. I love the game so far. My biggest gripe is that it doesn't support Ultrawide monitors, but there's a workaround for that, so I'm overall happy with my experience.

If you're a bit judging and susceptible to comparing games to other games and dwell on what they "should've" done instead of focusing on the work they put into it, then it'll ruin your experience. It's damn fun and the level designs are phenomenal.

It’s really simple, that doesn’t mean easy, but simple, so you don’t really see the emergent gameplay you might find in similar games like left for dead or vermintide, but the gun play is really fun and the Aliens skin does a lot to keep me playing. It is very satisfying to mow down a bunch of Xenos with a smart rifle, they really put in the work to make it feel like aliens, so if you’re a fan you’ll love the game. If the IP isn’t very nostalgic to you, you’ll likely get bored very quickly

Finally a review that doesn't say it can be completed 4 hours and actually talks about the 5th character. I've seen 3 reviews today that say there are 4 classes and they have obviously not played anything other than one class on casual. However you did forget to mention that the aliens and the areas you have to go on each playthrough of each mission do change. As an example the first mission has you go to one of 3 rooms to gain the data and the horde part moves to one of 2 places, sometimes there won't be a warrior or a spitter and sometimes you'll be swamped by them without changing any difficulty or any other settings. Also the skills and boosts/upgrades that you place on the grid are class specific AND universal, which means you'll need to play all the classes to gain access to all of the upgrades.

While it's obvious the game isn't a AAA it's still pretty fun to play. Honestly? FUSE Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle In Manhattan ( My favorite ) Clive Barker's Jericho I'd be very surprised if you won't like these games honestly. 100% playable offline and the gameplay of these games are off the charts! Beyond fun, and extremely awesome. Check em out if you haven't already.

This is off the walls gunz blazing in tight corridors and aliens coming every direction. The way aliens is suppose to be. Although I prefer the vision and horror of the original, it is cool to have two versions of the Xenomorph. The first (Alien) being an unstoppable stealth driven perfect specimen, and the second (Aliens) being an infestation amount of bugs that are fairly easy to kill but still equally as terrifying, or at least close to it. Alien(s) is my favorite sci-fi universe and I’m looking forward to playing this, even if it isn’t perfect.

Aliens is my all time favorite movie, EVER!! After Colonial Marines, I was concerned with any new game in the universe but after playing through a few levels, yeah this is no Colonial Marines. Absolutely loving the game. It's just about what I wanted for an aliens game that mimic the amazing action of the movie and this game nails the look sound, atmosphere, feel of the movie. Is it perfect, no, but close enough as many of us have been waiting decades for an Aliens game like the movie.

Great review - All I feel this game needed really to be near perfect - Infil/Exfil scenes - Crouch - Torch (on/off) - Climbable sections (some areas are like, really? I can't stand there) and one that isn't a big deal. Character mouths moving whilst talking. They should definitely do some kind of mode that is kind of like Ewok hunt on BF2. Claustrophobic corridors, dark requiring flashlight, Xenomorph’s making noise in the distance. Kind of like Alien: Isolation in a way. It does need a more horror kind of mode.

Great review. I’m not a fan of FPS but I love TPS and Aliens is hands down my favourite movie of all time. I just picked up this game yesterday and, although I wasn’t aware of it until sitting down with it tonight, it turns out that this is what I’ve been waiting for since I was 13, 24 years ago. It’s managed to stay true to its roots while still giving me wonderful nostalgic feelings, the tense action sequences, the dark atmosphere lit by sporadic muzzle flare only to see a xenomorph a little bit too late. Got some friends on board, matchmaking for when nobody’s available, as well as upcoming free content? I’m a happy man.

When I bought this game on the release, I thought it was quite shitty. Not awful, but neither very interesting. After a few months, I've returned into it. I must take my words back, the game is awesome. It has a pretty big arsenal of interesting weapons, nearly warframe-like modification system, since the release there was a bunch of new guns added... And yeah, mods. Community has fixed most of the problems the devs didn't, so the game is very fun to play. Waiting for the Dec. 14.

If you read or listen to the prequel book to this game called Aliens infiltrator you'll get into the story more. I highly suggest it. The game is basic but a damn fun time. For die hards of the Alien franchise this is a must buy...I'm gonna be that guy that posts this on every review.

Aliens do bunch and swarm down a hallway when they have the numbers. Director's cut with the turrets almost running out of ammo till they decided to try another way to get to the last of the Marines. I recall like 15+ plus crawling on 2 pipes to sneak into the compound where Hicks gets spooked.

Peer to Peer? Server connection? Quickplay "forever" queue? Seems like no reviewer think those are important for a multiplayer coop game. In my humble opinion some games disappear simply because they don't have the option of peer to peer connection, to make private lobbies, to mod or simply to choose how you want to connect. The more options you have, the better and it's most likely to stay. Pure server games need lots of people to stay in the game and for the game to grow or at least be stable, which most are not.

I want to like it but it just feels like it's missing the PvP aspect for more tension. The Xenomorph in Rebellions in AvP they they actually camouflage into the dark environments and move around the ceilings.

Absolutely. Definitely give a few videos a watch and see what other people are saying, because you're absolutely right, it's going to be different depending on your affinity for the Aliens series, and this style of game.

Yeah because they use difficulty scaling as content for the game, harder difficulty more enemies, and only 6-7 hours of actual playtime. Short game like World War Z that no one will want to replay after beating, absolutely no replayability and the devs claim their game can be replayability. Maybe if you bore yourself. Everyone quit WWZ after beating the campaign, there's no point in replaying, it's said and done.

I have no doubt they will make more levels and have us eventually fighting queens and other enemies. I hope they add to the character creation but I love the team aspect and I hope to make some friends online in the alien universe

After you finish the storly line its time for end game and that's one map. All monster come the same way in waves. 29 was the highest I have got. But it becomes boring fast.

Yep we acknowledged that it's repetitive, but the endgame is more than just horde mode. The missions on higher difficulties, which are a real test of your build and cooperation, have a chance of awarding new weapons, skins, perks, etc.

This looks like it ticks the shooter/horde box and alien isolation ticked the horror/survival box for gameplay, now hopefully there's a chance for a new alien vs predator extinction game for some rts

It's fun, but it's just not what I'm looking for in an Aliens game focused on the Marines. I would have preferred if they took the Marine campaign from AvP, fleshed that out, and added the coop and class system from this game.

This game is definitely worth the price tag. There’s a lot of in depth progression for the classes and I love how the AI isn’t brain dead and will actually climb on walls and flank you. The music is also :chef kiss: amazing. Makes me feel like I’m in the movie. 10/10 way better than Colonial Marine and it still has more content on the way. Can’t wait.
