You don't have to play on pvp servers. There are coop servers and you can always just play solo in your own private world. So many ways to play the game.

Tbf since this update has come out ive been chilling in my pve server enjoying the game and not stressing about anything until i feel up and ready for the challenge

Early access player here! I'll gladly answer those inquires (: 1. Regarding the ruleset, now in 1.0 it can be modified at any time by the host, simply load game (instead of pressing continue) and select the private server that you are playing with your friend, you will see an option that allows you to modify the rules of said server. And like you mentioned, yes you can decrease the crafting time, increase the amount of recourses you get, modify the difficulty, the length of the day, the decay of the castle... basically you can modify almost everything to your liking, so give it a go! 2. In terms of PvP, my friends and I never touched it because it's usually like the video shows, speedrunning to get strong as soon as possible. Even tho most players will be OP like you said, it won't be impossible to catch up to them, since to my knowledge most of them stick in Silverlight Hills and now probably will be staying in Mortium too. So it's unlikely that high level players will be stalking on players that just started in Farbane. This of course is not my own experience, it's only out of things I read on forms and seen on videos, and it's prone to change since I'm talking about pre 1.0 PvP behavior. Of course, you can always search for a server that focuses on long term PvP, like you said so it takes weeks and not just a day to reach endgame. They are not common but I remember seeing a few last year that encouraged longplay instead of speedrunning, so try looking for one in the servers list or even somewhere in Discord!
