the only way the Gunner would be more broken is if they had tracking MIRV-nades that explode into smaller nades that blow up or bounce then blow up, or a "Napalm Fountain" Nade that sets fire to a large area burning whatever is stupid enough to be in it's radius. I do still say though that Gunner should increase base Ammo Reserves for Auto-rifles and Demo's for Heavies as that's their focus weapon wise.

Recon with standard pups is my go to favourite class especially on high difficulty providing ammo and highlighting enemies with debuffs is so handy for the team

I agree. As such as I Tech Main - I was solo blitz running Standard 4-2 for the XP. Working up to the 100 prestige. After several rounds of struggle with Alpha/Beta, including some fails. I switched to a Gunner. The Overclock high burst damage sweeps aside the heavy armoured xenos. The triple grenades provide a lot of control of various "panic" situations. And time to run dropped down by a decent margin.

I use a Recon support build using vanilla PUPS with lots of ability rechargers on it. I extend the duration a bit and extend the drone enough so it drops 3 mags. With this build I have a 15 second PUPS recharge time. That allows me to slow everything, weaken their damage, and increase damage dealt to them as much as possible. I also keep the real damage dealers full on ammo as well. I'm not the best sniper in the world, so I use the increased stability and accuracy to unload a lot of accurate DPS with the Type 88 auto rifle. I've gotten through Extreme missions pretty easily with Gunners and Demolishers as teammates. I have not attempted Insane.

Downside is I can't use Discord while on it. I can't leave my gaming laptop out because I have kids that would mess with it. I'll figure something out.

Great tier list! I think I'd have to agree with every choice. I main Recon, and while it hurts to see it so low on the list, I can't argue with it. It's one of those classes that prioritizes consistency and convenience over straight up power, and I love it! But definitely not high up there for raw damage or disruption. Good stuff. :)

Noice video. The next list should be Mission ranking lol which we all know 1-3 going to be lmao. Also I feel cold iron could make one more class width a heavy and pistol because that the only class left. In my classic Marine build I use your pulse rifle and heirloom shot gun build. I hope a year 2 roadmap get revealed the end of this year or the beginning of next year.

Pistol and Heavy would be interesting. I think an Engineer class would be interesting, although it would sound similar to the Technician, it could be something like one activated ability that enhances handling and gives Fireteam 50% chance on kills to reload magazine for free (meaning it actually gives you back whatever ammunition was used, not taking from your stock ammo count) for a specified duration, another ability that allows for dual wielding your pistol of choice for a brief duration (but obviously doubling the rate at which your ammo depletes, disabling ADS and disables your heavy weapon while active), and the passive ability could be something like two or more kills within 2 seconds grants 5 seconds of immunity to acid damage (does not stack) or something like that. Idk could be unbalanced and out there, but trying to think up a class that can support team with chances to gain ammo (pulling from Recon ability), with the ability to enhance weapon performance slightly and dual wielding ability for damage output, while also having the unique passive ability to be resistant to acid when certain conditions are met. We’ve got plenty of CC, stumble and slow class abilities across the other classes, so this would be a more aggressive class similar to the Gunner. Could play mid to frontline with the acid resistance capability and extra damage output with dual wielding pistols or heavy weapon, and the added handling and ammo gains for the team would be the team support factor.

Added Info: If you bonk an alien even with the default grenade and you have Disorienting Blast on your grid it will knock them down and then the explosion will knock them down again. Not as long as remote detonator because the explosion knockdown overlaps with the bonk knockdown so it runs together a little but you can even edge out a bit more CC duration with just the default grenade by slapping them with it. Gunner's versatility is just unmatched.

I look at the default as more of a "Bonk". Remote Det is definitely a "Thwack". Mini's are just a good "Shoo" feeling.

I completely understand why your list was ordered the way it was, it absolutely makes sense! With that being said, I think the only placement that sort of surprised me was the Recon, given that it was much higher on your initial list, and I still find ammo management difficult on the higher difficulty settings. The way I play Recon, I have nearly probably around 80% uptime on basic PUPS with the mapwide slow, Red is Dead, etc. and have different builds for both sniping, auto rifles, and in-between with my favorite DMR the Scout Rifle, along with the ever trusty Pump.. love playing it, probably in my top 3 favorites to play alongside the Tech and Gunner! Literally every other position on the list I would personally keep the same, for me myself I’d probably place the Recon at least between Demo and Lancer at the minimum, but I definitely understand why you placed it where it was! Fantastic video, great list, very good stuff FiOth! Nailed it as always!!!

I almost have all the kits to level 8. The phalanx is a slog…Ack! Please note I’ve only played with the horrid AI synths at this point. I’ll be attempting to play with other ppl soon. 1. Technician- rocks with fire turret and hit multiple targets. 2. Gunner- overclock is a beast 3. Recon- pup crowd control and never running out of ammo is awesome. 4. Demolisher- Rockets and smart gun…oh my 5. Lancer- I disagree with you on the multiple shots is a great crowd control against the higher level enemies. 6. Doc- it’s okay as the healing is nice. I use the ability the regenerate meds with kills. 7. Phalanx is a slog and not fun kits to play. I’m slowly getting it to 8 though.

I would argue that the tier list could also be based on difficulty. For exmaple, on Insane, a lot of people refuse to play without a Recon. Not only do they spot enemies and have teamwide unlimited ammo. They have perks that reduce cooldown, instantly reload team's weapons and can debuff elites to take 25%+ extra damage. It's almost necessary on higher difficulties unless you are using cards. For insane, I would give Gunner #1, Tech #2 and Recon #3. However on Synth missions Gunner, Doc & Recon will be more useful.

Gunner, Tech, Recon is by far the most dependable trio. I'd argue a Phalanx works great against Synths, tanking the chipping DMG with the Shield while the Marines clean house. Many things can work, some just work easier than others.

Awesome list and video. I would have rated the recon above the lancer, but it's my favourite class and I can see why you'd prefer lancer. I think the tech got the most massive upgrade of them all. It was already a top tier class, now it's almost absurd. Particle turret, plasma shotgun, and the karachi overwatch attachment make this kit insane. Flame turret and weak point or shotgun build is still better if you have reliable team mates. But when playing with randoms, the CC reigns supreme. I really agree with your assessment of gunner and demo. Gunner has had some crazy good upgrades, and like you said it didn't need them at all. Demo has had some sorely needed upgrades. I feel like the other kits got the short end of the stick. Thanks for making this tier list.

Interested in you thoughts on the lancer mini beam. I know you said it sucks in terms of damage and failing to proc slow field. But does the utility of the 2s stun on the mini warrant use? Seeing how good the micro rockets were in 5-3 (granted their dmg is much higher) the utility of being able to lock them down seemed powerful.

Seemed, but it's not. The Rockets can proc Bleed and stagger on every hit for decent DMG. The Demo can also move while casting. There really is no comparison.

Hardcore is super easy my man. No friendly fire. All 50 tiers feel like your playing on standard difficulty. No rewards for reaching 50 either.

@@MistaFiOth the point should had been that it actually become difficult hence the name and what the mode represents. Iv played other hardcore modes in other games. That were actually harder than any other mode in the game and they gave out unique rewards that would carry over to your main game but this games hardcore mode is a complete joke. The difficulty barely changes from 1 to 50 and no rewards. On lvl 50 it might feel about Intense difficulty as far as health and damage for enemies but the no friendly fire just knocks the difficulty down a notch more.I get the no friendly fire. That's just how hardcore is in all other games. Trolls would be all over that mode if FF was on. Lol. Buuuuuut the devs claim the mode would get harder than Insane. Not even close. Difficulty is stuck somewhere between standard and Intense in my opinion. Was extremely disappointed. 😞

max cooldown precision demo is just dumb 100 cd 40 range 20 dmg and bleed w room for dmg resist when using rockets which are constant you dont even need your guns id say it ties w gunner for how absurd a carry that is heck it works fine w napalm rockets too for just wiping away hordes of trash mobs and doing dot dmg to big enemies its only drawback is no team buffing but it is a behemoth of a class currently phalanx id put higher soley because not just for synths but for neomorphs especially the queen phalanx just can take all the punishment that section of missions can dish out and makes extreme and insane far easier w a good phalanx

I agree with This list till a Extent... one thing i disagree with personally is Gunner being that high id personally put gunner in like 3rd or 4tg personally cause i dont think he has that much Versatility.... for me the funner Seems like easy mode or the "Casuals" way out if that makes sense... and imho he kinda feels like the Class that focuses more on himself than the rest of the team... most gunners i play with dont even save overclock for when ahit gets rough they just spam it out whenever rhey get the Chance.... and i also feel like most gunners i play with just say fuck the team and sprint into the Crowd just using overclock for them and only them u get what i mean? And ik gunner has quickload interlink that helps the team but at least for me thats the only "Team" focused perk gunner has I guess what im trying to say that for me gunners arent helpful they mostly are just Glory Hounds

You've been playing with randos, my man. Gunner's overall contribution to the team is second to none, if they use their Abilities correctly. Tons of CC and a well-built OC will turn any battle to the Marines' favor.
