Narrator recalls the radio broadcasts of World Wars One and Two where the vivid descriptions echo the courage and sacrifices of those involved. His pace of speaking, his tone voice and his expressions lending credence to the verbiage and the audio of invasion battle. Once again a thoroughly enjoyable, fast-paced story. Narrator and the producer of this channel keep bringing me back to these excellent inspiring and image filled-stories. 88 x 4 👏

Not sure that the name Arizona was a good choice to make but I cant tell of your meaning behind it. I have traveled from Adelaide, South Australia, I have stood above the real Arizona and I not sure that you can compare an American National War Grave to an invented story set in a futuristic time where the name Arizona has nothing relatable. The story also has shades of Enterprise NCC 1701 D returning from the museum to once again fight the borg. There are other themes I felt that had been borrowed so maybe don't think of what you know, work on things abstract. One of the best stories I have read to give you insight The Princess and the Human

tldr; The use of the name Arizona is a grave insult. (and I am never above making puns even when I'm dead serious :D) Aside from a couple of complaints that are common for HFY stories, I have a big complaint about one thing. No navy that is a successor to the USN in any capacity, would reuse the name Arizona. Not even a future space navy that represents a large portion of Earth or its entirety. If they are not successors to the old navies of Earth, they have no need or reason to use that name as its significance is in and of itself not that big (its just a subdivision of a subdivision). If they are successors, then using that name for a new ship would be a massive insult (new meaning after 1941). Ships like Arizona and Hood are not unlike really devastating hurricanes, their names are retired. We do this out of respect. Reusing a name that has been retired, especially if they were retired due to the manner in which they were lost, is one of the biggest insults you could possibly hand a navy like the USN or RN. It says "Screw you, your history and all that it means to you". I get that this draws a little from Space Battleship Yamato (one of my favorite shows ever, the old stuff and the reboot), but to that I say "Arizona wasn't Japanese and its not like they named it Mikasa either" & you will find that with the RN and USN often the first ship with a specific name is named after a person or place or whatnot, subsequent ships of the same name, will be named for the previous ship, with a little nod to the original/older ones (this is not a universal rule, more of a rule of thumb). While with Japan, each ship with the same name e.g. the IJN Kaga and JS Kaga are both named for the prefecture of the same name. JS Kaga (the one that exists today) is not named after the Kaga of WW2 fame.

I think it’s a good idea as both ships are museum and help us remember the people who died and the ones who survived ,and I don’t think that the Terran defence ship Arizona is insulting to the USS ARIZONA ,as the Terran defence force is a space force and not a sea force. Maybe the USS ARIZONA was not destroyed in the Terran defence force and so they could use the name for a ship?
@whyjnot420

@@phoenixprime24 How can it use the name Arizona like this without claiming that lineage though? It really only has the meaning and emotional attachment it has, because of a single ship that existed in a single terrestrial navy. There is literally no other reason for using it and apparently it alone. (this pitfall could have been obviated by any explanation of the name which removed that uniqueness, though such would likely sound highly contrived if not done well) addendum: Arizona is itself not a museum, it is a memorial and a cemetery. Off the top of my head and in the last 90 seconds I thought of; How about using another name associated with the state of Arizona for the ship in the story. Town, city, old nicknames whatever. With a reference to the old USS Arizona. Only something as moderate as a memorial plaque. That is, if you really want to make people think of what Arizona means to people in our day and age.

Ever go through a tour on a retired Battleship. Worth the trip. All the history. Kinda makes you think. Such a big ship. Could fight any battle and win.her guns spelled death to her enemies. Wonder what shenanigans the Montana Class Battleship would have gotten into.
@whyjnot420

Probably something similar to the Alaska or Des Moines classes. Which is why they shitcanned them early. (I love those cruisers. The Alaskas were just pretty awesome as well as the best looking ships of the era, and that semi-automated loader for the 8" guns of the Des Moines could pump out a round every ten seconds, for each barrel, which is just insane) But lets not pretend that they were actually worth the resources put into them. They would have fiddled and farted around for a little while, then sit in reserves since they were big and big tends to mean "lots of reserve buoyancy". Being overlooked for reactivation due to the existence of the Iowas. Finally being scrapped like Alaska, Guam & Des Moines or possibly turned into museum ships like Salem was. edit: If you want real insanity, look up the Tillman designs. They are properly insane. 120% batshit insane. The smallest of the Tillman designs was only a few thousand tons less than the Montanas would have been. The largest would have been 10k tons more. Talking 24, 16" guns in one design and 15, 18" guns in another design (of course they were grouped, for that particular 16" version it was 4, 6 gun turrets, which is twice the firepower of a Montana, more or less, though these were the old ww1 era 16" guns, not ones developed later and used by the Iowas and would have been used by the Montanas) edit 2: The Tillman designs were more "what is the biggest thing we can make with the infrastructure we have?" (e.g. existing slipways and whatnot) rather than "What would be a practical warship?".
