My comment here (as far as I can see it), I only mentioned it was nice to see the stories at least read by a human. The AI generated story readers can be... grating. I thought the same about Agro Squirrel Narrates videos. Like this narrator he has a British accent, but like my own "Midlantic" accent they are variable. Narration is sometimes a problem. There is one RP British accented voice that is difficult for me to follow. Some of the American accented ones may be difficult for some listeners to follow. I'm from Yankee New England, so a strong Planet Texas accent is more difficult for me than the British ones. On a related note, I've noticed that many of the videos that use non-optional captioning confuse American and British vocabulary spelling and voicing. I am irritated when a ship's hull is called a hole, our American d/t endings are odd, but British accents like my Yankee NE one cause confusion when one reads "collars" and the voice produces colors or colo's. English is somewhat difficult, I know because I'm an ESL/SPE teacher.

@@RADIOHFYYou spent too much time repeating descriptions. This caused the story to drag and progress much slower than it needed to. Show and don't tell comes from cinema but I he general sentiment goes for story writing as well. You do not need to tell the reader characteristics that you can show through the action of the narrative and if it cannot be shown through the characters you really need to ask if the description is necessary. Repeated descriptions absolutely aren't needed. Secondly, pick a perspective. This story would work better if you didn't reveal the humans until the time of the meeting. You spoiled any intrigue you could have had by providing unnecessary descriptions and not centralizing your view on the alien perspective. All in all, this reads somewhat closer to a report on historic events than a story.

Removing shoes is an old New England custom, while most of my fellow Americans remain shod. I was not surprised in Japan and Korea, since my regional culture was similar. There's a book [or series] "Kiss, Bow or Shake Hands" that has many real Earth examples that could be worked into novels like "Planet Texas meets Gunless Humanity," or "Don't even think about kissing or hand shaking when greeting Space Squids!"

Suggestion to the author: 26:40 A perfect amused comeback from Commander Hayes would be, "Since this is our first contact, I presume it indicated we have some sort of psionic ability. How else could we know of such a reputation otherwise?" As Leryn's feathers ruffled in mild consternation at the remark, Hayes leaned in slightly, as if sharing an open secret. "I assure you, we do not, despite what some circus acts may claim." ...or something along those lines. Just a thought for an edit, use it or don't.

No one in their right mind would invite unknown meat eaters home.

This was one of the best such videos that I have sampled. The voice actor sounds familiar, perhaps having narrated educational or news reports. The plot was similar to some of the SciFi novels and short stories that I have read over a half century. It was, however, more creative and not [as far as I can see] a mere rehashing of another author's work. I look forward to a sequel, and hope that it will not just be a "Perils of Pauline," or, in SciFi terms, an E.E. "Doc" Smith version thereof. This is not severe criticism, as even Isaac Asimov produced a series that was not entirely satisfactory towards the end. Congratulations to the channel, voice talent and others involved. 🖖Live long and Prosper!🖖

I would think that the assumption might be that if the humans had made it to the Saurani (a journey that would have taken them an extremely long time) they would have known more about them and who they were. As we find out the Terrans have FTL and have gotten to the Saurani far faster than any would have anticipated. The shoe report has been infamous for a fair amount of time.
