This was freaking good! That saying "hope for the best, plan for the worst" is ingrained in everything we do. Whether it be rescue operations after a hurricane, or a show of force on some a-hole's border. We like to be nice, until you deliberately piss us off.

Interesting... What lead commander said pretty much was citation from ancient roman author Publius Flavius Vegetius Renatus: "si vis pacem, para bellum" (if you want peace, prepare for war), and how the aftermath played out: „Parcere subiectis et debellare superbos.” (To spare those who submit and to tame the proud).

If you think we are good at war... we are even better at production, distribution, and making extremely solid and fair deals that actually benefit the parties involved. We are good for promises. We are fast, innovative, and more than happy to trade with anyone even moderately nice. Worst of all, it happens silently. You don't even notice because everything is going so smoothly and improving as more falls under a single jurisdictional system of efficiency and standards. So no one sees it. Until they try to mess with it. By then, humans AREthe economy.

For text to speech, it usually is from what I've heard. Since English is apparently stupid like that as some words are spelled differently than actually how there suppose to be and in large doses. Doesn't always happen but usually it gets to a point where it just starts screwing up sounding out words.
@kt6744 күн бұрын
fun story. its sounds like galactic council has similarities to western-style beaurocracy, especially significant is the systemic & institutional racism that english-speaking people are notorious for. only to learn hundreds of years later that was a very bad idea.
