Did the captain ever get with the enginering people about the problem on the ship? The captain in my book put other thing ahad of the safety of his ship, one things I didn't like about him in this clip. (Mississippi gulf Coast, USA).

I'm disappointed with all these continuous emergencies - what an overload !! What was the serious problem with the ftl drive ? How come the Goliath gaining strength never featured in the narrative ?

Gotta admit, I dosed off through this narration, didn't miss a thing I'm sure. Was there a theme, message, anything other than misplaced priorities and emergencies that weren't emergencies? Mercer needs a better crew and staff so it all doesn't rely on his "hands-on" attention. Of course, there was nothing happening anyway, right?
