Damn son, it's about time someone made a decent video on this! I wrote an article about this mysterious unfinished _Aliens_ FDS game years ago after it was dumped online, unfortunately (and surprisingly) to luke-warm reception. Mainly because to me, being such a big _Alien_ and obscure media fan, this was an _enormous_ find! Lucky for us Yuki wasn't a selfish hoarder and uploaded it for the world to enjoy (unlike it’s previous owner.) Fortunately we can play the original full version of it on _MSX_ (or perhaps unfortunately, lol.) It's distressing to think that this mysterious game was just sitting in some dudes dusty collection, purposely hidden from the world to never be experienced for almost three decades. It really makes me wonder "just how many MORE unknown video game enigmas are buried in big collectors treasuries under lock and key, or are just plain floating around?!" Perhaps through estate sales, stingy possessive collectors having a change of heart, or for a steep price, we'll keep discovering more. *Great video, and awesome up-scaled production value with the new graphics! Couple questions though:* Have you been talking to _Splash Wave_ ? Also, where did you see Yuki found it inside a Disk System? Every source I've found says he bought the prototype disk straight up for a shit load of money from a private collector on Yahoo! Japan. Small potatoes, just curious for continuities sake.

One more thing, you can find a patch over at _romhacking dot net_ for this FDS prototype that fixes every beta-version shortcoming the rom had making it finally complete. Also making it just as, if not more, playable as it's MSX counterpart. So you can enjoy it even more!

I scoured the "Upcoming Games" section from Electronic Gaming Monthly every issue for mention of an Aliens game. Some even had one, but they all turned out to be games of Alien 3.

Good video. The best game for the movie Aliens was made by Konami in 1990 for the Arcade. I played it as a kid & waited for a home port - it never happened :(.

I find it ironic that this game got cancelled for "not being good enough", when plenty of companies released NES games that probably played as bad or worse. Hell, developers today release games that play like garbage.

So glad you covered this game, not many know about it or the other port. As a hardcore fan of ALIENS I always thought why didn't we have game based off it. Then I discovered this and was hoping we would get it. We got the ALIENS arcade by Konami but never this one which is sad. But... We did get so manynother great games based off of it: the METROID series which Gunpei Yokoi specifically stated the first films and Ripley were inspirations for the games and Samus. Metroid 2 with going to their home planet and fighting the new Queen is a total homage to ALIENS. We have ALIEN SYNDROME, which has some Xenomorph inspired enemies. CONTRA, SUPER C, eventually getting games based on it and the AVP franchise. Also we had the great toys from Kenner so gotta appreciate that. Well done Billy! Love these videos bro.

The MSX was Japan's microcomputer of choice and classics like Metal Gear started on the MSX. Pretty good for a "made up system"

At least, the Alien 3 Nes game it's also not that bad, but unfortunately the Genesis / MegaDrive version it's the best among the others, however; The Snes version it's a completly different beast. So, if everybody wants to play an Alien game, try to search the Arcade version of "Aliens". Was made by Konami, and this is a Contra kind off. Maybe this is before the Contra's franchise. Too bad, never made to a console of any kind.

Alien 3 on NES isn't terrible but not great either. It's mediocre. If you know where to go and what to do, the game becomes a lot better. I always wondered why there was never an Aliens game but at least I had Contra.

I’ve never understood why we didn’t get a nes aliens game from Konami. They made the epic arcade game, they made contra (one of the best games ever made that had aliens inspired levels) and yet we got nothing. It would of been free money to re skin contra with new levels, why!!!!!!!!!! As a sorry from the various developers/publishers involved, I demand a compilation of all the arcade aliens games (inc. avp games). Best movie franchise ever imo and it’s been continuously let down with console games while there’s been some amazing arcade games. #iwouldsayfuckthesystembutthesystemisalreadyfuckingme!
