Nice hero story with a total bullshit background. Why would an untrained kid be entrusted with a ‚magic‘ weapon and not someone trained? Why is there inly this one given to a kid and not hundreds? And then what about the already defeated earth? What does defeated mean in the stories context? Is humanity slain, only remnants left? Is humanity enslaved? Does it mean something else? Then why bombard earth? And how did the girl get on board if ths is a ship in orbit…? So much bs background that is not explained to make any sense… Why would an alien ship have sewers that the aliens themself have issues moving in?
