For anyone interested, the orange square shape is called a Menger Sponge ( or Sierpinski Carpet, or Cantor set depending on how particular with history you want to be). It has infinite perimeter and 0 area! These exist in every finite dimensional space!
@romajimamulo3 жыл бұрын
Sponge typically is the 3D version, the cantor set is 1D, and carpet is 2D
@jzcook773 жыл бұрын
Romaji This is a choice of language. When you study real analysis, any set with these properties in R^n is called a Cantor set.
@columbus8myhw2 жыл бұрын
@@jzcook77 No. The Cantor set is totally disconnected. The Menger sponge is connected.
@jzcook772 жыл бұрын
@@columbus8myhw Look carefully at the construction of a standard Cantor set (not one of the fat ones that you consider in a measure theory class). This is simply a higher dimensional version of that construction. Some mathematicians call all of these things “Cantor-like sets”
@columbus8myhw2 жыл бұрын
@@jzcook77 Mathematicians _do_ have a more general conception of a Cantor set (also called a Cantor _space_), but I think you're slightly misremembering the characterization. A Cantor space is a nonempty compact metrizable space that's totally disconnected and has no isolated points. ("Metrizable" is automatic if you're in R^n; "compact" in the context of R^n means closed and bounded.) Nicely, all Cantor spaces are homeomorphic, so it's equivalent to state that a space is a Cantor space iff it's homeomorphic to the standard middle-thirds Cantor set. (My favorite Cantor space, incidentally, is "Antoine's necklace", a special subset of R^3 which you can learn about on Wikipedia and on Google Images. (Rémi Coulon made a physical version!)) Unfortunately, the definition _does_ include "totally disconnected", so the Menger sponge is excluded.

The "stacking strategy" for the last level is actually possible so long as you abuse the recursion to make multiple duplicates. By launching squares into the smaller version and immediately sending the other out, you can make 4 or so large blocks that can barely stack up with almost no turns to spare.

I like the way that Tyler played through this entire game and at no point did he figure out that the power of the launch depends on how far away he clicks.

What about something where people submit short concept games like this one that only take one video to play? That way some of the best concepts could go on to become full games with a little free promotion from the videos. It would be a great way for developers to try things out and have them played by you.

2:45 You couldn't shoot upwards because there was infinate mass above you. Just looking at the blocks on screen it only seems like there is 1 big block above you (which you probably have enough velocity to push), but if we assume it continues off screen, above that block is another bigger block, and above that another even bigger block, etc. Therefore there is infinate mass above you, and your velocity is finite.

Did you know you can one shot level 7 with the perfect angle? It's such a satisfying shot! You can also take advantage of a glitch to one shot level 15, but it isn't reliable and can cause you to wait forever on some runs.
