@@jacobbergholtz9563 so some kinda reverse procedural generation for the seeds, and someone somewhere somewhen somewhy could train a machine to make the levels forward procedurally (seed first instead of as output) by feeding it levels and reversed seeds and then boom the game is infinite

That would be a lot of effort, however the game seems completely unobfuscated and there are plenty of helper methods, i'm currently working on a mod to implement something similar to this, though there would be no "download center" or anything, you would need to share the levels elsewhere Edit: I've mostly finished this mod i said i was working on now, and i've asked sam in twitter DMs for permission to share the mod (since the mod modifies the same files as "SmartFridgeGamer"s playground, which is just the code, but 99% of that code is sam's)

Sam Hogan Someone that commented on my game worded it better than I could. "This reminds me of PTSD with Bennet Fodey", more commonly known as 'Getting Over It'. It's called JumBean's Great Escape. You're a jumping bean that jumps over nachos to escape being eaten by flying away on a bottle of salsa. Only my second jam but I had a lot of fun, it was my first REAL attempt at level design. Facts Tamizhan You can play it in a PC web browser or download it on a PC for now, if you'd like. I'd like to start releasing games on Apple's App Store and the Play Store. But Apple hates developers that don't have a Mac and I don't have an android device as of now. So it would be difficult to test an android build, impossible for an iPhone build. I do want to get into releasing apps at some point though.

Server is the mode common way, but I remember there is 1 game on Google play store that uses twitter This method does not work due to twitter change their picture format anymore and the game has been taken down, but it shows potential Yes, I said picture format. The game uses the picture uploaded into the twitter to get how the level is laid out. I don't know how he do it, but it is definitely possible (Unfortunately, will need to use different service now that uses the old twitter file format, which I don't know what's the format is..)

Sweet! This is a really cool idea! I like that solutions just sort of happen if you experiment enough. I like how with level 8 for example you sort of have to let it play out first before you can visualize how to complete it. The distorted pixel art look is cool in my opinion also. Loved that you used the game of life as segment transitions too :D Awesome job!

A cool way to extend the life cycle of this game for "relatively" little effort is a map editor that exports level data as a string. Just give each cell a unique character and export it to a string row by row. then add a play button for custom levels that asks for a string input field. This way levels can be shared easily without much effort. Of course it's no guarantee they're playable from start to finish. But it's always a nice feature that's relatively easy to make.

It’s been like 7 years and he doesn’t know how to code properly (yeah his code “works” decently, but when you look at it, it’s all over the place) and when people offer him help he repeatedly gets angry at them and they just give up trying to help him lol, along with the strange way he codes, even when they do attempt to help they don’t know where to begin as the game is all over the place. Yeah it’s a bigger game, but even some simple mechanics he can’t implement properly, which is a shame as I would really love to see the game done.
