I've played this game pretty much fully. I got most achievements a while ago, until they added new ones. Here's answers to some of your questions/misunderstandings: 1. Stifle means "no mana gain" 2. overtime doesn't mean the opponents start scaling. It means every unit does. It's just there to prevent 2 healing focused teams from being in a stalemate - eventually, the damage and attack speed will outdo any possible healing. 3. Every unit casts. Casting is just using their mana ability from their mana reaching max. The game isn't that tough. Really, I think it's just about learning which unit is good or not. And which traits are worth going for. I don't think it's especially well balanced - some trait bonuses seems very underwhelming. But then again, I never really looked into the best strategies or anything.

@@AlphaSquadZero Not that I know of, no. And I even checked the compendium (info about every card/item). You have to go off what it sounds like it might be and then pay attention to the units. Stifle has a similar meaning to suffocate, so it would be a "prevent something from happening" effect. In this case, it was pretty obvious the blue bar (mana) didn't increase for 30s.

Some of those boss guys were tier IV, and the dragon ability claimed it could bring units all the way up to tier V, so I'm willing to bet that tier III isn't actually the last tier.

Another mechanical note: I saw the vault button in the bottom right corner and suspect it is an important part of efficiently scaling.

You can get to TV pretty easily and consistently using items or synergies, at one point you could get up to TV1 and I think TVII, but no more :(

nice to see a foray into the autochess genre, they're usually pretty deep in terms of interactions, synergies, resource management, and board arrangements (especially if they're pvp instead of pve since pve has optimised placements while pvp can benefit from suboptimal placements in order to win mindgames against opponents). I don't expect tyler would play pvp ones such as dota autochess or tft, but I wonder if he'd be into playing more of this genre

I do feel like you should've gotten the higher tier units (the uncommon and rares), but I do understand feeling the need to upgrade the ones you already have.

Having played the game plenty (48h on steam), it's not that important. Higher rarity are generally better, but not worth replacing a tier 4 common, for example. If you try to, you're likely to just lose before the rare can get strong enough. It seems more important to build around the trait bonuses. And each trait only has 2-3 rares in their pool, so you can't get the big trait bonuses without lower rarities. But I never looked into the best strategies either, so maybe ignoring traits could work, given the right units... ? I kind of doubt it though.

You are propably supposed to replace lower rarity units with higher rarities once you unlock them. Otherwise your scaling falls off because you need way to many dupes for upgrading tiers and you only get so much items. As for the game, doesn't look to shabby but also not to visually appealing and not sure the tactics can carry it.

I'm not gonna say it's a TFT rip-off, but now I'm curious to see if Tyler will play TFT after all of these comments. For those of you who don't know, TFT is known as Team Fight Tactics. It is a part of the League of Legends franchise, and is basically this game with.. a lot of depth to it that I actually don't quite understand 😅. It's also PvP instead of PvE.

@DDRFaQ I dislike the word "rip off" unless it gives the name or genre a bad name. Like if the game created was made poorly, or the developer is a POS. TFT is a well-made game, in my opinion, despite not playing it all that much. I wouldn't say the game is a rip-off. I would say it's a reimagined remix of a genre that was honestly kind of struggling at the time, and this gave it a new light that allowed more of a wide-spread audience to find it.
