I watched the whole series backwards, whilst watching tons of Alien Theory's videos. I love the ever living shit out of this franchise. I think Ellen Ripley's story line is the longest to watch. Where as covenant and Prometheus feel short but really interesting, so much so that they made me delv in deeper for anything I missed on my first screening. Also this theory channel is pretty legendary, I never would've known about the comics if it wasn't for this channel. I still ain't done with this franchise, I've got so many questions and a whole game to play and I just can't stop thinking about it

The William Gibson alien 3 script novelization just dropped on audible recently. It's only two hours long, but it was a good audiobook to listen to at work, and was a bit more engaging that the William Gibson script comic in my opinion. Honestly if you can, I'd highly recommend listening to all of the novelizations by Alan Dean Foster. He's a great writer and gives us a good idea of what the original scripts had in mind.

I actually really like The first AVP. I like the Ancient antarctic temple setting and both the aliens and predators are handled with respect. Its the first movie featuring aliens and predators and they put honest effort into making a good movie. The second AVP is a bland horror film with unlikable characters and horrible plot. The idea of a predalien and aliens running around a town could have been cool, but it turned out to be hot garbage

Predator 2 is a pretty decent movie. The critics of it are mostly people who cant see past the 1st film and wanted it to be that same movie. The reality is, if they they had made a copy of the 1st film it would have been billed as being awful because it wasnt original.

Starting the Ultimate watch. Starting with Alien Franchise (finishing with AvP) then Predator Franchise. Next up, Terminator Franchise followed by Robocop Franchise. Robocop joins through the Robocop vs Terminator series. Then Judge Dredd movies (Stallone version is amazing) once again, brought in by Dredd vs Robocop. Then, Batman (original movie, 1989 and Nolan) this gets tied in through Batman vs Aliens/Predator/Judge Dredd. Followed by Superman (all movies including Batman vs Superman) tied in through Superman vs Aliens. Finishing up with Green Lantern with the tie in being Green Lantern vs Aliens. Time of posting, up to the Judge Dredd movies.

i grew up loving both alien and predator but i also grew up with terminator and robocop so i include my alien marathon sometimes with them whether its by release date, chronology, or rotten tomatoes. this works for me cause ive always loved the idea of making a fan project of a crossover of all of them i call it AVPVTVR plus this is just my childhood in one sitting so yeah 22 movies all together. p.s. i sometimes throw in will smith's 2004 i,robot movie cause i just love it.

If there's one thing in this video I'll disagree with, it's about watching Aliens as a newcomer... if whatever marathon you go for includes Aliens (AND IT SHOULD), just go straight for the Special Edition. This isn't like Alien, Alien 3, or Resurrection where each version brings something different to the table, Aliens Special Edition is the flat out best version of that movie, and is the version James Cameron intended for everyone to watch, this coming from his own mouth. The SE was very carefully constructed so that nothing was lost, and the new scenes only add to the movie, not change it, and they're all so damn good that I can't go back to the original.

I've never understood the hate aimed at predator 2. I saw it in the theater and enjoyed it more than the first predator. I cheered when Glover dropped the disk blade and said "who's next" and I loved the trophy case with a human skull next to all the other horrors on display.

I'm working through the joint Blade Runner/Alien chronology (dropped the Predator stuff). While it's not absolutely cohesive, I feel like many of the themes Ridley Scott worked into Blade Runner and Prometheus work really well together and it's made a great experience and forces me to examine ideas about man as creator and creation, our roles and responsibilities to those that we create. I'm doing all the extended universe stuff in between movies as well. Definitely worth a shot.

I did an Audiobook marathon where i listened to Alien, Alien Out of the Shadows, Alien River of Pain, Aliens and finally last year's Gibson's Alien 3 audio drama. This marathon can be ended nicely by reading(i haven't really found an audiobook version of these yet) the Earth War novels or comics.

Alien, Predator, Aliens, Predator 2, Alien 3, Predators, Alien: Resurrection, The Predator (or Prey, if you prefer), then jump into the AVP films.

Pro tips: 1. If ever in doubt, in movies or in life, ALWAYS go with the Danny Glover option. 2. Only watch the special edition of Aliens and make sure you have a subwoofer. The turret scene is one of the most terrifying and anxiety inducing scenes in cinematic history. You need that subwoofer to feel the terror of the Aliens banging on the pressure doors after the turrets have run out of ammo.

I watched most of the Alien franchise with my younger brother over the course of three different nights. He had never seen any of the movies, I had seen the first, bits and pieces of the second, and Resurrection (we skipped that one because it sucks). I've also seen the first AVP, but that doesn't even count really. We watched Alien the first night, Aliens the second night, and the last night we marathoned Alien 3, Prometheus, and Alien Covenant. He loved the first two, hated 3, thought Prometheus was great, and liked Covenant. I love the first two and like all the Alien movies save for Resurrection and the AVP movies. Alien looks great on 4k by the way!

I usually recommend going by release date to follow the expansion of the canon, I also only do it in 2 film blocks. Seems to work best in chunks like that. (Alien/Aliens, Alien3/Resurrection, AVP/Requiem, Prometheus/Covenant, Predator/Predator 2, Predators/The Predator) It has consistency in quality and narrative flow.

Alien 3 is my second favorite.very underrated.i prefer the directors cut but however I prefer xeno having come from the Dog over the Ox.i feel the dog gave it more of runner qualities than what I imagine an Oxes genes would have

I normally do chronological order so start with Prometheus and end with resurrection but to be honest never thought to add the predator films or the AVP ones but thanks for giving me something to spice up my alien day :)

Ive done the victory lap sos many times. Lolz! The Alien franchise is my favorite Sci-Fi franchise. I do all 12 based on timeline of the overall arc.

The ascending order based on RT scores is almost perfect. I would just swap AVP and AVPR and swap Prometheus and Covenant just so you're not watching direct sequels backwards. Those two pairings are close enough in quality anyways.
