Compared to all other computers in the same size Alienware x14 is the best. I took a month to read and watch everything and to compare and I've just got mine. Almost 10 mouths after its released it is still the best out there.That's the only one with thuderbolt 4 and there is 2 ports! The only one with hdmi 2.1. The only 14" one that weight under 4 pounds and no need for a big power suply who often weight more than the laptop. It is less that 2/3 pound more compare to surface pro 9 with keybord and power suply and surface have no gaming card. Who care if cant change my memory? I have DDR5 5200mhz 32gb and no need for more to work or gaming. The M.2 ssd is the fastest gen 4 on the market and you can upgrade it but 2tb is enough for me and there is also a microSD slot and usb C and A ports for dock, usb keys or external drives. The rtx 3060 is far better then the 3050ti for rog flow z13 or x13 and the screen is larger. And on benchmark the difference between that and the 3070 in other laptop of the same size is negligible. Yes some have better card but without givin enough power to use it well. Playing at 1080p AAA games with maxout is not a problem at all. Intel i7 12 th gen is way better for me than amd, for thudebolot 4 of course but for way more. Speaking of that with thuderbolt 4 you can run a EGPU with external display with a very small difference compared to the same gpu in a destop. I can charge it on all ports. It's the best laptop ever made for travelling and the battery have a great autonomy if you dont play heavy aaa games. Wifi 6E blutooth 5.2. Also with PS Plus and Nvidia GeFOrce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming who need a rtx 3090ti in his laptop? Welcome to 2022! Anyway i have massive tower for that. There is no other competitor with the same stuff pack in so small computer. That laptop deserved at less 9/10 and with almost the half on the price for a Razor! I am getting this tomorrow, wish me luck....i am tight on budget, so only getting the base model, 12th gen i5 and RTX 3050...but i need a portable device at any cost and it has always been my wish from childhood days to own an alienware....fingers crossed that this one lasts for years for me... unfortunately due to abysmal taxes in my country, even the base model costs a buck over USD $1900

@@gp8539 heating is on par with thin and light gaming laptops/...battery about 3-4 hrs if your workloads are heavy, 5-6hrs if the workload's on the lighter side....

11:50 I think for 250 the price of this maschine is really fair. It competes with other chromeboocks in this category and the x14 beats all of those 250 dollar chromebooks easily

Hopefully, receiving my X14 tomorrow! I configured mine with the rtx 3050ti video card. I was considering returning it to upgrade to the rtx 3060 card. Due you think it’s worth paying the extra? Or just stick with the 3050ti for this type of gaming laptop. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Great video and keep up the good work!

I am considering this laptop as a travel companion because the X17 is too large. However, I don’t wanna upgrade the GPU… did you try the 3050 on any other games outside of Doom Eternal?

That’s fair, here are the games I personally tried: Elden Rings: Max Setting, 50fps~ Doom Eternal: Second highest settings, 90fps~ Cities Skyline: Max Setting, 60fps (locked)

I see that they got cheap with the packaging. When i got my old Alienware 14 in 2013, it came in a beautiful carry case with amazing cushioning in side.

The 2011 M14X and series laptops were the best. They been surely screwing alot of the flash of their laptops they used to focus for. The 2011 series m-x laptops had some much flare to LED's and lights. Todays gamers would be drooling over it. Plus the keyboards were these lame chiklit craps. They had some soft raised ones that were nice and flush with one another. I still remember when they had the m11x of the smallest gaming laptop of all time. When netbooks were still a thing. Now everyone wants SIZE of screens, but everything else to be micro. I still can't wrap my head around peoples logic when wanting something super thin, light, but a HUGE fricken screen yet smaller then it's own display.... and powerful, yet quiet......

I agree, although ironically they made this one because the original design (on the larger models) does not fit on this chasis since it is too small.

I am a college student who needs a high-powered laptop to read huge pdf files, write endless amounts of essays and do the occasional bit of pc gaming just so that I can play games with my pc gamer mates. I had a few questions about the x14 and was wondering if u wouldn't mind answering them. - the wrist rest seems small. is it uncomfortable for doing extensive typing sessions? - I need smth that lasts me 6-7 years. what would its life span approximately end up being, in your opinion? - I am a college student so am looking to get the 3050 ti or just 3050 to save some money. would that configuration be able to handle games of the modern standard? - can this laptop handle copious amounts of school work while also being used to game? - whats the battery life like for productivity? - would u recommend this computer for people who are unsure if they want to commit to pc gaming but who also need smth high powered for school? i apologise for asking so many questions but would really appreciate the help.

If you leave the laptop plugged in while playing a game does it eventually die? Or does it keep up with the charge that's needed

If you use the barrel charger that comes with it you can keep it running while charging without battery loss. If you use a 90w USB_C charger you will not be able to sustain charge.

Mine did ±2 hours of chrome browsing and reading articles, which was beyond dissapointing, I don't know how you obrained 9 hrs of light activities - reading articles on internet is also light activity, isn't it?

These kind of devices is what keeps my faith in Windows instead than Apple. Apple is so expensive and so bad at gaming that only graphic designers or artists want an Apple device, but for everbody else is much better to get a gaming capable machine like this Dell Alienware X14 2022

That's cause apple is for productivity usage then HIGH blown gaming. Apple has never focused their route to high end pc gaming. They only focused as a workhorse for their systems. That's kinda what apple has always been focus for years on. So they aren't likely to change to put insanely powerful stuff in their laptops. Heck not much even on their massive desktops. It's just how apple is with their compute systems. Their OS is mainly designed around workload then anything else.

This laptop like most gaming laptops has integrated intel Iris Xe along with the Nvidia. I connected 4 external monitors (3 usb-c + 1 HDMI) and intel Xe supports all of the,m with gaming on one primary display. However, when Nvidia surround was anabled, (for multi monitor gaming), games span on only 2 external monitors. One on HDMI and other on the USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C with Power Delivery and DisplayPort. The builtin screen and any monitors connected to the other 2 usb-c thunderbolt 4 ports go black. No one games on 2 monitors because of the monitor bezels join in the centre (nvidia surround is better with 3 monitors). This renders the dual monitor support by this 'gaming' laptop useless.

speakers are really not good, battery is not 9 hours more like 4 hours at normal usage, 80% brightness, not the worst, but not 9 hours, the fan noise is really poor, screen is good, but for a 1080p with a large battery for its size its not great, it is beautiful to look at though

Thanks for your thoughts, nice to hear other reviews. For me battery at 9 hours included non stop video playback at 50% brightness and 25% speaker volume.
