I've done head swaps many times, but with bodies & dolls I already know will work. Definitely heat the head up. Place plastic baggie over head & submerge in very hot water for at least 10 minutes. Head should be much more squishy.

Hi Kada, Just an idea, but have you thought of putting some tacky glue inside the dolls heads to keep the hair from failing out? I know that a lot of people who reroot their dolls do this. I do think those doll heads would work better on a modern (maybe made to move?) body. Also you would have a lot more choices of skin tone matches. Love your videos! ❤

Wow!

@Endollphins4 ай бұрын
Hey Kada 😊 I'm happy that you have had fun with these! For their price the quality is awesome 😁 What about the black haired head? Does it have any markings? I thought this might be a Mengf head. But if so it should have the word Mengf on the neck. I mean, Mengf is surely very inspired by IT. But as far as I know their products are trademarked as their own design, and I think they are different enough to be their own brand. I simply never bought a head from them and so I don't know 😅 But the one you got is definitely tempting^^
@kadawalden4 ай бұрын
Oh wow, there IS something on the back of her head. Says 2021, a character I don't know (ending in tt?), and then MF. Very interesting! Yeah, they had 3 or 4 different hairstyles with this same face mold. Very lovely!
@Endollphins4 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for the information 😁 I remembered wrongly that Mengf would also write the full name (or whatever the full name is) on their heads. But that's the way they stamp their bodies. There is only one head I am aware of and the only difference to yours is the year. The head I already talked about with another collector was stamped with 2020 and yours is a newer model since it's from 2021. That's interesting! I didn't like the older one, but yours is cute. Maybe I will try one. I love the fact that they come in so many different hair colors 😆

Hi! Great eye! I don't know who the dress belongs to - no tag - but I'm thinking it's not Barbie. It's a little too big. I mean, it fits, but super baggy. Also, it looks maybe homemade? Kada, you did a fabulous job working with what you had! Btw, I am in awe of your inventory of clothes!! About the hair coming out, I just did a hair re-root for the first time and it’s very helpful to add some glue inside the head afterwards to prevent the hair from coming out. The glue I used was actually a clear fabric glue that I just squeezed into the neck hole then used a QTip to spread it around. Perhaps the maker of your doll heads skipped this step? Anyhoo, Always fun watching your videos! Thanks 😊

I heard the vintage looking heads are made to work with the modern Barbie neck hole size so a tennis made to move could work with her. Also maybe some fabric tac glue to the inside of the head to hold the hair like people who reroot uses.

@Kada as someone who knows vintage-modern. Those heads would do better with bodies newer than the 70's. Two blondes temu,aliexpress,shemu the bodies are pale. The brunette would be better suited for a body like old fashionista but yea the defa luci bodies could work as well. I would recommend the cheap bodies

This was a funny video. I loved the dramatic music of Space Odyssey. It made me laugh. I don't know if you are still a member of IT but last year they had bodies for dolls at $26 each and some for $30. I ended up purchasing several bodies for extra in case of damage and to get heads and have bodies on stand by. If you're still a member check close to the holidays and IT may have another sale. I have seen those head on Aliexpress and wondered so I am glad you did this video. Also I believe you said the doll head was hard? You can always heat the heads with a blow dryer like they do for IT dolls but be careful and do the neck area and not the hair or the upper inside. So that you don't burn the hair or melt the glue inside. I just posted that in my ig if you want to see or IT has a KZbin video of the process. I hope this helps.

I nearly died when you yanked the Vintage Bubblecut's head off. These older heads can split badly if they are not handled with care. Trying to repair them once they split never looks right. I would try a modern body like a Made to Move or Fashionista just in case they fit plus if they do, you might get a better skin colour match.

@@kadawalden “very light” is the key here, for sure. I usually use hot glue when I do reroots, but one time I tried the fabric glue, and I do believe I used too much. It took around 2 weeks to dry, but even then it was still kinda gooey.
