Kada, I love the dolls you made. They are all beautiful. I make my own version of a doll all the time, and it has nothing to do with money. Mattel will make a doll that is only a white version, and I want a black version. So, then I make my own. When Mattel made the Toki Doki dolls (three) they are all white. So, I made 12 versions and they are all black, and I bought two of Mattel's versions. I only collect Barbie and Kens. I also craft them and build the doll houses. So, I love "House of the Dragon", especially the family of Corlyss Valeryon and his family. They are black people with white hair. I made my own. They turned out perfectly- when you look at mine you automatically know which character they are. I also built Castle Driftmark. All the furniture in the castle is wood because this is a medieval castle. My problem was finding the right clothing, and I wanted a red dragon or a hippocampus seahorse on all the clothes. I got the clothing I wanted through an Etsy shop and I added the sigil. They turned out perfectly, especially my Daemon Targaryen and my Corlyss Valeryon. I made Daemon, Rhaneyra, Corlyss, Rhaenys, Baela, Raeyna, Craegan Stark and two descendants of the Targaryen-Valeryon family. From your group of "Haunted Beauties", my favorites are the 2012 Ghost Barbie and the 2013 vampire. I love their clothing. Thanks for sharing.

The Haunted Beauty dolls are my grails. Its always kind of disapointing that Mattel doesn't do any Halloween Barbies anymore (but they do several Day of the Dead ones for some reason). Probably some marketing guru somewhere thinks that market is covered with Skullector releases (it's not the same... and those are too expensive to get now too). Love this video. I might try to make my own versions next year. I'm sure I'll find some thrifted girls I could use by then. Edit: The dress of the Ida B Wells Barbie might actually make a really good outfit for a Mistress of the Manor Barbie look.

Great job on all of them. I have a recent thrifted Barbie that I'm going to do something spooky with. She has nothing to loose she is in such bad shape. I like the first one best (the Barbie in white) . She is so gorgeously spooky!!

I used to have the Boo-tiful Barbie until my niece (who was a toddler at the time) wanted her ... Recently I wanted a ghost again in my collection so I took the newest Tooth Fairy doll, a cheap gown from Amazon and other pieces and fashioned my own... I have been collecting on and off since 2002 and my first doll was the Bewitched Samantha!

Absolutely correct, that dolls imo, are meant to be unboxed & played with. Change the outfits, change the hairstyle. Make them into Limited expensive remakes of Haunted Beauty dolls. Of course the real dolls would be great to have. But this just goes to remind us, we can create a doll that's just as special, with just a little effort & creativity. I'm going to do this too ! I'd be careful keeping dolls in dark clothes for any length of time. I've been spending the last two weeks bleaching stains from my dolls, and I'm getting pretty tired of it. lol

I've tried a lot of solutions over the years, and the one I like the most is everything sorted by color in separate bins. It brings me the most satisfaction, especially for my faves -- denim, black, white. ♥
