Not to discredit the translator, but emulation and save states exist. I doubt they needed to go through the entire game just to record the ending for this video. Still, they went the extra mile to include the english version. Guess it was easier than translating all the text themselves lol

I knew this game had a sad ending, but I was not prepared for seeing it at all. Despite Klonoa's memories being fake, Klonoa still believed them. He didn't want to believe for a second that his time with Huepow never happened. By the time Huepow realised what a caring, kind hearted, true friend Klonoa is and didnt want him to go, it was already too late. That was the hardest part. That and the part when they were both holding the ring.

I played this game on PS1. I remember choosing the game because of the front cover of the CD (I was always a fan of games with mascots). I played without many expectations, but I liked the playstyle and the story that grew little by little. But the ending... As fas as I can tell, it was the first game that made me cry, and I had played tons of games before this one! The game is simple and not big, but delivers such a good experience, mainly because of the way it was constructed. I also played Klonoa 2 and both games for the GBA system (there's an RPG for this system too, but it never got an English release), and while I did enjoy part of their story and challenge, none of them got me like this one did. Well, props to the translator. You did a great job!!! Thanks!

I am very new to the fandom, but from what I can tell, Korone is an extremely popular vtuber for Hololive. I believe in all of Hololive's existence, only two vtubers have retired and one of those was because Aloe was being harassed. I feel really sad for Aloe, but I don't think anything along those lines is likely to happen again with Hololive. Okayu and Korone are both here to stay for a very, very long time I would imagine. I imagine if one ever does leave, the other might follow soon after, and with these two seeming to be the most popular, that might be a big blow to Hololive. Then again, I suppose over time, as more vtubers are introduced, maybe they'll become less popular by comparison, but again, I think it'll take a long time for anything like that to happen. There's something really special about these two that I'm not certain any of the other stars seem to share. At least in my opinion.

It is good to know there are people that can get that emotionally invested in things like this. It makes me feel like there might be hope for humanity yet. It seems to me not the actual outcome but the quality of the emotions that it caused you to feel that is important. That you might care that deeply for something that doesn't really matter implies you might care for something else that really matters even more, and if that is true, then it is very good.

Wow, that ending... Korone needs all the hugs and headpats. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell there's no alternate ending, not even in the Wii rerelease. It doesn't help that this isn't the only game I've seen where the hero survives but gets sent back home without being able to enjoy the fruits of their labor ("The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" being another). Still, per GameFAQs there's *six* more "Klonoa" games - the sequel (on PS2), a PS1 spinoff, three GBA titles, and a WonderSwan entry - so if Korone wants to there's plenty more of Klonoa to see.
@cuccopotpie12214 жыл бұрын
Oot isn't really a good example of this though. Saving Zelda in the present and then being sent back in time WAS the reward in that game. Now in the present, Zelda is safe and Hyrule has a ray of hope. And in the past, Link has just created a new timeline where all of the nastiness and brutality that Ganondorf inflicted upon Hyrule doesn't come to pass.
@WarioBarker4 жыл бұрын
@@cuccopotpie1221 Fair point, though admittedly in regard to "OOT" I was thinking more of the celebration seen during the credits, which Link doesn't get to take part in (unless you access that setup of Lon Lon Ranch via debug menus or the like), plus the fact that after being sent back in time, Navi suddenly leaves him. ...Yeah, you're right, it's a bad example. On the bright side the rest of the beginning and middle of the game has great cutscenes too. There a lot of equally beautiful moments hidden all throughout the game, such as all those characters who you saw floating alongside Majesty as she was thanking Klonoa and all of them: they all have very nice stories that are covered in the game too! If you enjoy 2.5D platformers and have any Playstation device you can download the game for very cheap. It's on PS3, PS4, PS5. And it's a great port of the original game. Only about $5 I think. Since Tokimoki 2 i can guess why Koro-san additionally feels so much emotionally invested in situations like this. Besides that Koro-san seems to be in general very emotional person owo But yeah, even tho i didnt played Klonoa games it seems as very sad ending on itself.

It's an awesome platformer for the PS1 made for kids with a heartwrenching ending. Everyone cried. Everyone. I was a wreck for a day after playing it over a week when I was younger.

And she experienced it exactly as I hoped her to experience it: with her whole heart.

Oh, really thank you so much for translating ❤️ I always wanted to understand her thoughts and opinions on the ending, especially after the original creator tweeted about Korone playing it.

It's eerie to see her soul leave her body, and then see her body bob up and down.

I don't see her character crying, but I clearly hear her sobbing. That's so cute.

earthbound and mother 3 also did something similar with itoi specifically stating that having a blind player name hinawa after their own mom was a "pro gamer move"

I played the Wii version after the two GBA games, I didn't expect the ending to mess me up the way it did. I mostly forgot everything in the game but the ending with Huepow holding on to Klonoa was particularly engrained in my brain. Damn I actually teared up, remembering what the game did to me over a decade ago. This is why I want another cool Klonoa game dammit.
