I am so impressed by Alina's courage to fly at her young age. She shows maturity and respect for her love of flying. She has worked hard and coached exceptionally well. I applaud Alina and Alina's parents for having faith in her abilities to see her dream. Her future is limitless.

That is a GREAT video! It shows the experience of flying the Aerolite 103 very clearly AND it shows more about Airventure 2023 than any other video that I have been able to find this year. It seems that most Airventure KZbinrs have been highlighting the main attractions only, ad nauseum, whereas your video shows all physical aspects of Airventure 2023 visible from the air, including the aircraft parking areas and camping areas (Camp Scholler and beyond!). I had no idea how much camping was happening! Thanks!

Please be very careful when using zip ties to secure things to the airframe. During my 40 years as an AP mech, I have seen slightly loose Thomas&Betts zip ties deeply cut into 4130 chrome moly tubing causing the tube to be unairworthy (mostly on engine mounts). The proper way is to use Adel clamps.

Thanks for the tip
@robertmcomella252410 ай бұрын
You and Alina are a great team. Your attention to detail and Alina's extra ordinary talent will take her far. Another tip just occurred to me. Do not drill holes in the airframe or the landing struts unless directed by the manufacture. Cracks will propagate from the hole due to vibrations and the part WILL fail sooner or later. Happy flying. May God keep you safe.
@williamh.scottv43810 ай бұрын
Thanks. I keep such holes at a minimum. I think currently there are zero such holes.

Hi Alina, how are you? I'm always watching your ultralight flying videos and I sit down piloting it, but here in Brazil some pilots in this modality have already lost their lives because of falls, I don't know if it's because they don't know how to fly properly, mechanical failure or structural failure, Could you please tell me something about this???
@williamh.scottv4384 ай бұрын
Flying is unforgiving of poor flying and maintenance. Ultralights also sometimes invite people who want to fly for less money and sometimes cut corners.

Is there a reason to use rudder independent of aileron, when flying straight & level, is this an ultralight thing? I don't know. Ah, engine torque, she's compensating for prop wash, P factor thing as she maintains altitude - cool. (that affecting the airspeed)

The helmet people will give you one free, sponsorship. They could also use that in their website advertising. " "Alina Scott, 14 yr old cross state pilot and AirVenture Pilot of the year uses our XYZ helmet for safety, comfort and communication. The all built in Comms with noise-attenuating headset enables radio use to become second nature when your hands are full of aircraft" Marvellous! Then all ya need is a push button to transmit.

For Diversity's sake, a bunch of these could be given to little black boys and girls and then encourage them to fly all over the place with them. They could be like the "Tuskegee Airmen" at the end of WWII. 🙈🙉🙊
@a320nick11 ай бұрын
I'm surprised your engine doesn't blow up the time they kept you waiting for takeoff 🤔 They could have parallel runways for t/o and landings. It's as bad as Biggin Hill, almost.

@@williamh.scottv438 Dang. I hate when I say something inappropriate and I get called on it. I confess that I made the post in frustration after watching 3 minutes of Alina taxi. I made the post and then saw the positive comments about the video. Wondering what I must of missed I went back and watched the rest. It was a terrific video starting at about 4:00. I do apologize for having made that comment. I do think editing make your videos more interesting and is considerate to your audience, and, it is easy to do. I saw another video that someone did about Alina. She is a remarkable young lady and you are a great dad in the way you have prepared her and allowed her to grow. Many kids today do not reach their potential because their parents are to afraid to let them. It's not an easy balance or an easy job. I look forward to seeing more about Alina's flying career. Again, my apologies. All the best,
