Honestly I don't get why people don't like the video. It's really good! I mean every time I would visualize a video for this song, I would always see something outer space like. I’m watching this video as I’m high and I just realized this song is about being high. He’s on a different universe and all the lyrics she’s singing is the trip he’s going through. When you’re super high, it feels like there’s no time or space. He doesn’t need a plane because the weed is his escape. He’s so high, he’s on a different planet. The weed washed away all his pain because he’s so relaxed. He’s unwinding and getting lost in the thoughts happening in his mind. Anyways, that’s my take on it and I’m high asf. no i agree its deeper, I always thought of the 'listen to the waves' as an exhale because she is the paradise, and that lyric comes right after 'breathe me in like air tonight' and the deep inhalation patterns of people wrapped in intimacy can be likened to the relaxing sound of waves on a beach. I think the video is fitting, its not the cliche literal interpretation of lyrics that you usally get with alot of the shallow music thats out there these days. that was my hipster moment of the week brought to you by kinda happy kinda annoyed this music is going mainstream lol :p
