I don't drink coffee, but I love hot cocoa. I thought the that Keurig machine would be a quick way to prepare some but there was no way I was going to pay out $80 to $150 to purchase a new one. So I bought a "non-working" K10 at the thrift store for $9 and, after applying what I learned from this video, I now have a fully-functioning hot cocoa maker. Thanks!

You were right on target. My sisters K10 unit broke today. It would not fill up the cup with coffee. Lucky I found your informative video on the repair of this machine. I took mine apart removed top cover and 2 screws as instructed. I then removed the 2 screws that held the black plastic housing that the rubber tube was attached to. I used a paper clip as instructed and found the 3 holes at the bottom of the plastic tube were clogged with coffee grounds. Cleaned the passage with white distilled vinegar and rinsed with water. The compartment that held the water was full of corrosion. I filled it with distilled white vinegar and let it set for a few minutes then rinsed it with water. I did this several times until the particles of material loosened up and left the tank surface nice and clean. Then I ran about 10 cups of water through the machine to give it a good rinse without a coffee cartridge in place. Now my sister is one happy camper. Many thanks for the help!!!!🙂

Worked great, thank you so much! iFixit is a wealth of knowledge, but their K10 instructions left me scratching my head at how to remove the handle top cover. You adding a close up of the locking tabs really helped me understand what was going on and finally get the thing off, a simple clean of the needle later and now I can caffeinate again. Thank you! Followed your instructions and I went from angry and cranky with no coffee to powered up and caffeinated in less than 10 minutes. I used a thin piece of wood to place the open keurig upside down for the last step. Made it easier to work with the steel non magnetic screws. I almost lost one trying to work with it upright because my thick fingers just didn’t fit.

Wish I would have discovered this video a couple years ago when my Keurig K10 Red coffee maker stopped working. I had to to throw it away because I could not fix it, but I was able to upgrade to the better Keurig Mini Plus with a 20% discount from Keurig with 24 K cups of my choice. For under $100.00 I got a better and slimmer Keurig. The strong brew feature was a game changer for me. I use that feature always when making a cup of coffee.

Love these How to videos. My Keurig stopped moving the water the top to the bottom when I would lift the top so I searched for a fix. Now while his did move the water I still did the steps and was able to get the tube off without popping the zip tie. You have to go slow and do some twisting and it comes right up. I had grounds in the tube and in the pin needle area cleaned it all out and made a gods cup of coffee. Thanks

Omg it worked, I had to take pictures halfway through and make sure I put it back right I can always remove things but I can never put them back right one thing it doesn't close properly What do I need to adjust to make a fit better when I close it open and close.. Thank you! This video saved me about $80 (the cost of a new Keurig). I called Keurig CSR for help. I was provided the basic troubleshooting that did not resolve the problem and received a sales pitch for a new Keurig. As the CSR talked, I was searching KZbin for help. My searched ended with your video (thorough, easy to follow/pause, and EXTREMELY helpful)! Thanks for taking the time to make this video. My first Keurig was a K10. It never clogged. It was a great little coffee maker, that is, until I used the Keurig-brand "cleaning" solution and ended up RUINING it instead! Never again! After using that solution, my coffee never tasted the same. It was flat and tasteless. I had to get a NEW Keurig!

See if you can chase the hose down to the pump. Usually blockage like this is caused by the pump caked up with lime & calcium. Try white vinegar first.

You have to lift slightly and push back on the lid. Make sure you got all the screws out, too. They're easy to miss and hard to get to. The first time I did it, I missed a screw. Then when I pressed backward, the lid finally popped off.

LOOK!!!: If your "K10" doesn't have a faint electronic hum anymore (when you plug it in) but it still lights up (but does not heat or pump): I opened up the very bottom and found a loose nut holding an electronic part (were the wiring comes to a junction) I tightened that up and it worked again! It's a little tricky to pry the bottom plastic base out (as well as the the metal plate) but once you do you'll see that the single NUT (not the screws) holding the wiring may be loose (this is where the heater and pump apparently lose power). I also trimmed some metal off of each side of the plate to get it to pop back in easier. NOTE: 2 screws on the bottom of the plate hold some of the wiring as well but these are not the issue. Make sure this is unplugged as you work on it! (DUH)

I think a lot of us forget to take the coffee pod out, and then it dries, so after we are done for the morning, I run a cup without the pod to clean the needle and wipe out the underside and inside the cop holder

I followed your procedure without success. The Keurig would still not pump water/coffee although needle appeared to be very clogged. I then sucked on the hose opening and after a little bit I heard a small pop and my mouth was full of water. Apparently there is a check valve in the line that got stuck. I then ran vineger through the unit twice and then rinsed. The Krurig now runs and pumps coffle like a champ. Suggest you add this additional step if you update the video.

You might try a medical type syringe with a proper hose size adapter. That way the water and coffee grounds are sucked into the syringe instead of in your mouth. Not sure if this would work but I would think it is worth a try.

If water is coming out of the hose, the spike nozzle is clogged. Try and pour some water through where the hose connects to on the tilting head.
