Dude, this stuff is not even remotely comparable to WD-40. It's a dry lube. I have been using this product since 1990 on guns and knives exclusively. You can get a lot large bottle of it so you can fill up that little syringe applicator. For an example of how good this product is: I inherited my great grandfather's completely rusted out axe. I refinished it and got all the rust off. I hung it in my garage and it started getting rust again after a month. I coated it with Tuff-Glide and it has been hanging in my garage for 13 years and hasn't got a speck of rust on it. I have never used a product as good as this. If you need a wet lube, Break Free is probably the best product.

You ever pick up a knife with that stuff on it that hasn’t been handled in more than a few weeks almost always gonna notice tackiness and sticky. Feeling stuff is no good.

Please do not use wd40 as a lubricant. Wd40 is a solvent. It work well as a penetrating fluid to get off rusted or stuck screws/bolts, which is why it seems like it a good lubricant. It will damage anything it is left on for a prolonged period of time

If a knife or multitool is "storing" dust and dirt, 5min in a ultrasonic cleaner is better than mixing that crap with a lubricant. And taking a knife apart can effect the warranty. Clean, dry, lub and be happy!

would this be good on bearings?

Non-load bearings - probably.

Seems like most opinions is this gums up and is not good as a lubricant just use as a rust prohibitor. I see a lot of recommendations for nano oil for knife pivots.
