Aaron, just bought your book, The Most Crucial Knots. I was a little bit surprised this knot was not in it.

Thank you! We had to decide what to keep in the book and what to take out. It was a tough call.

Hey Aaron. After the wraps, the Blake's requires passing the working end between the bridge line & standing line then feeding up thru the bottom wraps on the back side. Feeding up thru the face side makes the knot less stable ... and technically not a Blake's. Viewed the TOC of your knot book, outstanding collection of practical knots & ropework. Subbed.

That's a good knot. Is that commonly considered a critical load knot? It seems like that could fail under certain circumstances. Just asking. Love your channel. Thanks.

Arborists use this knot to keep their position on a fixed line. It's meant for static loads, not dynamic falling. Be safe out there!

Why wan't an overhand stopper knot added to the tail?
