The "circus music" is the classical military march, "Entry of the Gladiators" by Julius Fucik, released in 1897. It wasn't meant to be called circus/carnival music, but after a later rearrangement by another musician in the early 20th century, it then got played at circuses, after making the tempo faster. Today, over a hundred years of getting played as "circus music", we still associate it like that today, perhaps to the chagrin of Julius, who knows. 10/31/24
