Thus top 10 is someone's opinion. There's way more worthy top 10 in the US. I live in northern Michigan. We have alot of beautiful scenery.

Biscuits and gravy is one of the few foods that tastes way better than it smells, and it smells great.

Also, you do not have to have sausage for the gravy. You can just use any type of broth. Most stores sell the frozen biscuits and they are just as good.

Being a Texas-Ex I have to pull for the Horns. But truthfully, I don't much care anymore. It is fun to watch the games. Even the blowouts.

The coldest game in NFL history was played between the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers (1967). It was a - 15 degrees Fahrenheit (-26 degrees Celsius). With wind chill it was nearly -40 degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius (that's the same temperature on either temperature scale). Brutal for the players and for the fans. It's known as the Ice Bowl. You need to read about it sometime. I'm sure there is archival film somewhere. I remember watching that game - oh, I felt so for the players and so bad for my Cowboys who had to travel back to Dallas on a loss. It was a playoff game so it was even harder because that was the end of the season for them. Nobody ever wants to end on a loss.

I've basically given up on life. I'm just coasting by until I die of old age or finally lose mind and "self-destruct". All I wanted out of life was a wife, two kids and a house with a job that paid enough to provide for my family and made me feel like I had a purpose. Instead, I can't afford a job even if I found one wanted. I'm on a bunch of meds and without medicade I simply can't afford them even working full time. I'd literally be forced to choose between the pills that make my brain work food or having an apartment. Dating is impossible because how am I supposed to compete with anyone when I can only afford at best to go on two or three dates a month with my income? I couldn't have anything to myself anymore I'd have to designate every dollar of spare income just to go on 2-3 dates a month best case scenario. So now I'm just a grumpy aging unhappy man who has given up on every dream I ever had waiting for my time to run out. I quit smoking three years ago and at this point the only reason I'm not smoking again is I can't afford the habit. I don't even care If I get cancer anymore.

I have had the privilege of hearing this played live; once with Colin Blunstone doing a guest turn with Alan Parsons and his band (aboard a rock 'n' roll cruise on which The Zombies and Alan Parsons were both guest bands) as well as a stripped-down acoustic evening with just Colin and his Zombies bandmate Rod Argent. Although I grew up in the 60s and 70s, I had somehow missed ever hearing this song until that night aboard the ship when Rod and Colin played. I am a musician, so I hear all the "clunkers" and I'm a tougher audience than average. That said, I was floored, almost literally, as in I just about fell out of my chair. Colin is a magnificent singer, and he doesn't hold anything back. And he and Rod are two of the nicest, most gracious rock stars you could ever have the pleasure of meeting.

There is a moment in the director's cut where he says that he is aware that he could die any day. He is one of a small group of entertainers who are all octogenarians & nonagenarians who I fear we will lose in quick succession. He, Carol Burnett, Alan Alda, Mike Farrell .... We are the verge of losing a group of legends.

Hey Lyle, I discovered Oliver Anthony's Rich Men North Of Richmond a little over a week ago and had the same reaction as you. Since that time I have been passing it on and have seen about 7 reaction videos mostly from African American men and women and then you popped up. I love hearing the reaction to Oliver's heart felt working man blues and the more different the person reacting to his song the better. You are the first person from another country I have heard react and its the same. Oliver's gut wrenching delivery struck a chord but, I think your reaction is the best. Not only did the song leave you speechless (mostly) you did something none of the others have done. You didn't say anything you just played the song over and this time you didn't stop it or say a word. The only way I knew that you were listening was that Oliver's song kept going. Your expression was rapt and didn't flinch you were so absorbed by Oliver's words and his intense delivery. Thank you Lyle. That was priceless man. This is probably going to sound crap but, I have been telling my friends and family more or less similar views minus the bit about the person who is 5' 3" eating fudge cookies. I don't know if you have since listened to any of his vlog's about what is happening in his life since that song went ballistic? It seems that you and I were correct. Its not just America. I can't speak authoritatively about people and places I don't know but, I had a suspicion that money and the people who hold the most behave the same throughout history and it doesn't matter where in the world we took our first breath or our last. The majority of working people are treated like dogs. Peasants for the feudal lords who own everything and are never satisfied. It seems that regardless of what type of government we live in or what it is labeled or what century we are born into money creates the same impulses in people. Throughout the history of mankind the same thing keeps happening in slightly different ways but, the end result is the same. Eventually the lessons of the past are forgotten by the super rich and inevitably they push too far and then the rest of the working folks go into the street in anger and eventually a bone is thrown our way to placate us and the current generation of super rich make a mental note about how far to push us and then the whole cycle continues again and in a few generations or less the same thing happens again because people forget the lessons of the past and think that what happened to their fore-bearers won't happen to them because they think they are so effing smart and they make the same mistake and we start the cycle over again and nothing meaningful ever changes. I could see in your eyes Lyle that you were thinking the same things along those lines and I love how it affected you because it also confirmed another suspicion I had and that is that regardless of where we live, or the color of our skin, the religion we believe or don't believe, the language we speak there is far more that connects us than divides us in a more fundamental way. The only question is will we ever wake up to this reality and try to make a better place to live that treats all of us more fairly or are we doomed to go on as before? I think it's a huge lift but, your reaction confirmed much for me so thank you for that. Honesty matters. Integrity matters and the courage to be look at the world as it is not what we hope it is. Keep it up Lyle! Keep it up man. Peter St. John Clovis, CA

Okay, it looks like he did something wrong….. he threw out “the remainder.” That bit of dough at the end that you don’t think you can make a properly sized biscuit from. NEVER throw that out, it’s the best tasting biscuit, the ugly duckling that must be pressed into a ball and flattened with the roller to similar thickness as the others but not cut and so the edges are ugly, but the taste is as beautiful as a swan….. because those ugly edges give a nice crispness. I always wanted the ugly biscuit, and was mad if I got to the table and there wasn’t one, even if it was missing because my mother ate it as soon as the biscuits came out of the oven…… EDIT: Southern food is wonderful, eating biscuits and gravy is a reminder of that, and a reason why southerners are generally more religious than the rest of the country, cause they almost always sit down to a plate that makes em thankful…..

ND entrance at home is "Here Come the Irish" followed by "Shipping Up to Boston". The campus has a famous Gold Dome- hence the helmets. And Green jerseys have been bad luck. Gold and blue are the official school colors.

Do scrape out the measuring cup of the buttermilk, that is extra fat that bring moisture and flavor to the biscuits. If you have a problem with finding buttermilk you can use yogurt or a fermented milk (which from what I understand is more common in European countries).
