Kamksy was a beast for a long time and is still a very strong player. And if you give him the slightest chance to attack your king he will make you pay. Kamsky is the type of player that would win a tournament with 10 wins, 3 losses, 2 draws (say) and second place would have like 7 wins, 1 loss, 7 draws (for example). He never backed down from anyone and certainly beat all of the top players at one time or another. I have studied many of his games and some of his attacking ideas were incredibly creative. He is also better at defending than people realize, but his attacking is what you notice. I would not blame computers for his eventual fall. He was near the top for a long time, just never quite got to the very top.

Sounds to me more like they hate whichever is more known. I bet they don't even know when Magnus, Garry & Hikaru cheated. Lol.

People accusing Alireza of "farming lower rated players" don't realize how ELO works. If Gata is highest-rated opponent, so let's say tbe average opponent is 200 points, lower rated than Alireza, then the wins don't give him much points, and even a draw loses points. It's a very high risk strategy. You see, how even Magnus fared on his journey to become 2900. He did not play many lower rated people, but even the occasional draw against somebody (e.g. when he was playing a team event for Offerspil, so he got paired agains some "random 2500") is slowly taking him down. With engine prep, anybody can draw against anybody on a good day, and few superGMs even want to play against the lower rated GMs, because it's high risk, low reward. Case in point, Dominguez tried a farming tournament too (even before Alireza played this), he got some draw(s), and withdrew. Unless you have any evidence of fixing the actual games (i.e. that the opponents were paid to lose) then I see nothing wrong with this. Also, remember few years ago, when the ELO spot was different? It was for average rating over the last year... and people were raging againt Giri that he was "camping" on his high rating, not playing any tournaments for most of the year (chances are lot of the people were the same who now rage against Alireza). So yeah, now Fide has changed it to January rating so that people have actually the incentive to play tournaments and fight for that one spot. So that's what Dominguez and Alireza are doing. Again, unless there is any evidence of fixing the games, then there is no issue with just playing in the tournament

He is farming out of desperation, them be the facts. And the risk is minimal, 12 wins, 1 draw against 13 low rated players. ....and the draw was very odd, since his opponent was completely dominating him, had an easy win.
@Marco..1
@Marco..1 4 ай бұрын
It depends on the playstyle what is more effective to gain rating. Leinier and Firouzja are totally different player. Firouzja plays win or lose matches. Leinier plays solid to not lose a match and also win some, especially with white. On black he has a great defense, securing a draw. Firouzja on the other hand plays more risky with black, so that a win is possible, but losing is a risk there. So if Leinier plays with black against a weaker opponent, winning is hard for him, because his repertoire is for holding with black against a top player. Firouzja on the other hand plays with many chances, so that the weaker player will make a mistake and he can secure a win. Against a top player it is totally different. Leinier can hold a draw with black this way. Firouzja on the other hand is more likely to lose there. So depending on the playstyle and individual strength and weaknesses playing against stronger or weaker opponents is more effective than the other. On the part of Firouzja i think gaining elo points like that isn't the problem. The tournament he played before is more sketchy, but he would qualify without it so be it. What i dislike on the case of Firouzja is that he played quite bad the whole year. Probably a 2700 performance and that he has quite bad scores against top players. His rating consist mostly of winning against weaker opponents and he has no real feats against top players. There are some good results, but all in all he is not that strong in top level chess like his rating indicates and people like Wesley are in my opinion stronger atm. This may change in the future, maybe already at the candidates tournament, but the last year didn't show that Firouzja really thrives for chess. He was busy elsewhere.
@panda4247
@panda4247 4 ай бұрын
@@Marco..1 I agree with your analysis, and these are my thoughts on the matter: "So if Leinier plays with black against a weaker opponent, winning is hard for him" -- one might argue then he is a worse player than Alireza then. (If he is supposed to be that much better than the weaker players, he should be able to win with black as well regularly). "Against a top player ... Firouzja on the other hand is more likely to lose there." -- agreed, but apparently also more likely to win, so in the long run both strategies have their merits. (But I also admit, that if one wants to be a world champion, one should be consistent, not just in winning against 2500s, but also have a positive score against stronger opponents. Well, welll see how Alireza does in the candidates. hopefully better than last time). "Last year didn't show that Firouzja really thrives for chess. He was busy elsewhere." -- maybe if the rule was to have highest average or highest performance over the last year he would have done differently. Or maybe not >D I think it is still on FIDE to re-evaluate if highest ELO should be one of the candidates (perhaps highest ELO with at least X games played against 2650+, or some other rule),

@@squarecutatul6834 Am I a hypocrite / nationalist / traitor? This is what I was told by an Indian named Atul Kumar re Wesley So in early 2023: --- Part1 --- Quote 0: I haven’t seen a bigger hypocrite person than you in my life. 😂 I thought you are American bcoz you were taking sides of a cheater. Now you are taking side of someone who doesn’t even want to play under his real nation’s flag. Quote 1: Playing for a nation is an honour of highest kind. It doesn’t matter whether your federation is corrupt or not. As long as, you are playing for the country and they are not stopping you from playing for your country so anything else doesn’t matter. But greedy people won’t understand this. They run after money. There are many people who are FMs and still earning decent money to live. He had to choose between his country and money. And he chose money over his national flag. So , yeah he is a cheater. Everybody who is changing his federation just so that they get some more money is a traitor also. Anand never changed his federation even though he didn’t get much support during his initial days. When he became GM, India wasn’t doing well economically then he didn’t have that much support. He could have choosen USSR or US. But he didn’t. So , Wesley is greedy. (...) Filipino people can think whatever they can about a person who doesn’t want to play under their national flag 😂😂 Quote 2: No super GM can stay poor . There are so many ways but the fastest way Wesley saw was to ditch his nation and earn money by playing for some other countries. Why Anand didn’t do it ? We wasn’t doing well in the 90’s era. This won’t change the fact that Wesley So is a greedy person who had ditched his country for money. Quote 3: The reason behind your extremely selected and biased opinion towards Wesley is that Phillipines never had someone who could be in top 10 before. So , even though Wesley didn’t give a s about his country but Filipino people still think that he is talented because there is no Filipino in top 10. (Even now there is no one) because be chose money over his nation.😂😂 Poor Filipinos . This was your guys only chance to be in top 10 and he shattered your dreams. Quote 4: When you got a chance to represent your nation, it is a highest honour. You can’t compare it with money. There are other legal ways to make money too. But what did Wesley do. He didn’t give a s about Philippines. He ditched his national flag and chose the easiest way of making money by changing his federation. Carlsen could have earned millions of dollars even during his early days just by changing his federation to US. But he didn’t because he is a patriot. He still choose to stay and play for his country even though Norway wasn’t known for chess at that time. Wesley So didn’t want to work his ass off for making money. He just wanted to sit and earn money through federation. I know some GMs who are not even in top 100 and charging 100 dollars for an hour. They didn’t ditch their country. Conclusion:- Wesley is greedy and he don’t give a f about his own country. Quote 5: These people don’t go after money. Money is not everything for them. Eg - Anand, Carlsen etc. Anand and Carlsen could earn millions of dollars just by changing their federation. What was stopping them from doing so? Their principles. When Anand became a GM , India didn’t have much money for sports . He still didn’t change his federation . Also, Norway wasn’t known for Chess till Carlsen started showing brilliancy. These guys didn’t get much money from their federation but still kept going . What did wesley do? Oh , I am not earning much in this country so let’s play for a rich and developed nation because I have no duty towards my country. Quote 6: In short, wesley ditched his country for money and Hans is a cheater. Anyone who is ditching his country for money is a traitor. Quote 7: Cheaters don’t have principles. I see those who are taking side of Niemann also don’t have principles in their life. Probably , that’s why you were justifying Wesley’s action of ditching his country and playing for a developed nation for money. --- Part2 --- Previously: --- me : ‘atul kumar’ - sounds like a north american or an asian name … yet you side with magnus over hans niemann, wesley so and bobby fischer? so you’re a traitor to asia or north america? then Atul : Yes, I am Indian. Magnus is the best chess player ever till now. There is no shame in accepting that. He is better than anyone out there including Anand (…) Wesley So:- Just bcoz he won one Chess 960 world championship, it doesn’t mean that he is better than Magnus. (…) Bobby Fischer :- He just won one championship and then went paranoid. (…) Ches***m is an American site. Aren’t you a traitor now? You are disbelieving your own country’s site. then me : My countries are the Philippines and Hong Kong, so how am I a traitor? then Atul : Being Filipino, you are biased towards Wesley. then me : Yeah but you thought I was american. LOL. then Atul : I haven’t seen a bigger hypocrite person than you in my life. 😂 I thought you are American bcoz you were taking sides of a cheater. Now you are taking side of someone who doesn’t even want to play under his real nation’s flag. --- Part3 --- Anyhoo: --- Wesley So, Bobby Fischer & Hans Niemann have NEVER done ANY of the ff evil things in chess as adults. Magnus Carlsen, Garry Kasparov & Hikaru Nakamura HAVE done EACH of the ff evil things in chess as adults. Evil : -Cheating -Baseless accusations -Discrimination (eg by cheating or baselessly accusing people mainly of a certain ethnicity or citizenship) -Treason Re treason: - Magnus betrayed fellow Scandinavian-descent Hans by baselessly accusing Hans - Hikaru betrayed fellow American Hans by baselessly accusing Hans. - Garry betrayed 2 fellow Jews Judit Polgar & Alexei Shirov by cheating them. --- Source : p1w4Rr-DE --- P.S. Wesley So on Lex Fridman xcdhgq P.P.S. Interview while imprisoned p1w4Rr-1Uk Pablo Mercado: So what is your advice to the Filipino chess players? Uncle Bobby Fischer: My advice is to give up chess and take up Fischer Random. - 2004Oct11, 15 years before nephew Wesley So became the inaugural WFRCC in CLASSICAL time controls.

@@nicbentulan WTF are you talking about? Alireza playing with much weaker GMs (Kamsky might be a legend but he's very weak now for a GM) in 2 tournaments on his "home soil" (which is suspicious to say the least) is definitely something to think about. And since the difference between him and So in ranking is still such small and he qualified only thanks to such cheesy tactics it would be best for everyone (except Firouzja) if So and Firouzja would play against each other in classical games to see who deserves the spot more. It's pretty simple really.

@@wszczebrzeszyn lol i never disagreed w/ you. i even upvoted you, not that you can see. meanwhile you didn't answer my questions 1 - you said it's 'something to think about' even if it's legal. but was there ever a time in the entire history of chess or even sports where a player/s or a team/s did 'something to think about it' yet something LEGAL? i mean if alireza's case in world history of chess, sports, etc, then well... 2 - if alireza's farming 'is definitely something to think about', then are the cheating committed by magnus garry & hikaru 'definitely something to' MORE THAN 'think about' ? i want to see if people who criticise alireza's farming turn out to be hypocrites. i find it hypocritical in chess/sports to criticise something legal but be perfectly fine with illegal things.

Say what you will, but Alireza Firouzja had an amazing December. A lot of games were played against players much lower rated, but to just crush all of them one after another, drawing only a single game, winning the rest, is as good as it gets. As for the Candidates, it will depend on which Alireza Firouzja shows up. He didn't have a good year for the majority of it, and it had seemed like his side career as a fashion designer was distracting his chess, even potentially preventing him from becoming World Champion at some point. We have to see whether the good Alireza Firouzja is back.

2:55. In that position is knight to D2 another trick? Is it something that a magician would have up his sleeve? Yes and no. If D2 were part of a three to six move trap, then yes. But in this case it's more of a principled move, often leading to a better game. So, the better idiom or colloquialism is "Knight to D2 is another arrow in Alireza's quiver."

2022 WFRCC: Magnus, Hikaru & FIDE cheated Wesley So, who should've been 2020, 2022 & 2024 candidates wildcard because Wesley So won in classical games (45+15=60) while Hikaru won in rapid games (25+5+2.5=32.5min). Source: p1w4Rr-1fL --- That's the summary. The ff is the long version. --- 2 questions Q1 Why isn't it unfair to Wesley So that FIDE lowered the WFRCC time controls from 60min in 2019 to 32.5min in 2022 ( w/o changing the name of course to 'rapid WFRCC'. if they change the name, then there's no problem ) considering the ff things? --- Thing1 In the 2019 WFRCC, Hikaru & Magnus did better in 15+2=17min games than 60min games. Wesley So did better in vice-versa. --- Thing2 Afaik - (0min,10min) = blitz - [10min,60min) = rapid - [60min,120min) = classical but unrated for 2200+ players. - [120min,infinity) = classical Hence, Wesley So should be the CLASSICAL WFRCC and then Hikaru is the rapid WFRCC. Wesley So beat Magnus 3x CLASSICAL games in a row HUMAN VS HUMAN, no computer prep! The last time this happened was Vishy Anand vs Alexei Shirov in 2000 FIDE classical WCC! (Not to be confused w/ 2000 PCA classical WCC where Garry cheated Alexei.) --- Thing3 Yet for some reason FIDE insists that both 32.5min & 60min are 'slow rapid' while 17min is 'fast rapid'. They didn't even define these terms. Check out the maths here: I see only 2 reasonable definitions for slow & fast rapid. -Def1 - Slow rapid means unrated classical [60,120) & fast rapid is rapid [10,60). This means: - There's no classical WFRCC. - Wesley So is slow rapid WFRCC. - Hikaru is fast rapid WFRCC. - Hence, Hikaru is NOT a successor of Wesley So. -Def2 - Fast rapid & slow rapid cut up rapid [10,60) into resp [10,35) and [35,60). 2 issues here: - 60min is not in either of these intervals. - Also, 32.5 is in [10,35). So neither 60 nor 32.5 are slow rapid. Lol. This means: - There's no slow rapid WFRCC. - Wesley So is classical WFRCC. - Hikaru is rapid WFRCC, specifically fast rapid WFRCC. - Hence, again, Hikaru is NOT a successor of Wesley So. - Def3 - The definitions must be: Since 15+2=17 is fast rapid, we must have - [10,X) fast rapid & - [X,120) slow rapid, for some 17 < X < 32.5. Like say X is some arbitrary number like X=20 or X=30. Lol yeah right!! --- Thing4 Conclusion: I believe the 2022 WFRCC was a conspiracy to get Hikaru / Magnus to win in parallel w/ the Hans Niemann situation. Think about this: - Magnus quits the 2022 Sinquefield Cup. 1 day later, Hans Niemann, an American rival of Magnus, is harmed in another tournament, the 2022 CGC in that Hans is removed! - Magnus quits the 2023 WCC. 1 month later, Wesley So, an American rival of Magnus, is harmed in another tournament, the 2022 WFRCC in that the time controls are reduced w/o changing the name! I hardly believe this is a coincidence. I bet Magnus even directed (or conspired w/) FIDE to remove (and hence cheat) Sergey (not American but still Jewish like Hans & Bobby) from the 2022 candidates. Sergey's replacement Liren even cited the ff as role models: Magnus, Garry & Veselin instead of Wesley, Bobby & Vlad ( as described in FlNsFKeq-iE ). Of course there's no conspiracy at all if FIDE just says 'Ok Wesley So is classical WFRCC & Hikaru is rapid WFRCC. Sorry for the confusion!' For chess: The ability to play chess is the sign of a gentleman. The ability to play chess well is the sign of a wasted life. For 9LX: The ability to play 9LX is the sign of a gentleman or a lady. The ability to play 9LX well is the sign that you're not Magnus Carlsen. LOL!!!! --- Q2 Consequently, why shouldn't Wesley So have been a wildcard in 2020, 2022 or 2024 candidates as the 2019 WFRCC winner considering -Fabi was a wildcard in the 2019 WFRCC quarter-finals as the 2018 WCC runner-up, not by FRC virtue -Hikaru & Magnus were 2019 WFRCC quarter & semi-finals wildcards, by FRC virtue for the 2018 unofficial WFRCC but lol the 2018 game itself was obviously for chess virtue ? Well I suppose there's that being good at chess means you'll be good at 9LX but not vice-versa (unless you're Magnus lol)... --- P.S.
