A bunch of good people right here. I remember one time Alise, Sam, and some other racers all came to the neighborhood dirt jumps to ride. Just kids having fun on bikes back then. Her dad Mark is a really nice guy. He used to run the local BMX track and let me do work around the track so I could pay for racing. If it were not for that I'm not sure I would have ever raced BMX. Thanks Mark and everyone in the Pineview Park BMX family.

Like my wife, DeAnn, Alise is a special lady who sticks by her man through sickness and in health. Alise says, he's still Sam. I'm paralyzed from my chest, down and my wife says, he's still Steve from the chest, up. And, like Sam said, some disabled people have it worse. I see paraplegics at my gym (The Perfect Step, Pomona, CA) and I wish I could do what they can. But others with a higher SCI than me that have to use a power chair, wish they were able to do what I can do. We all learn to adapt. Life rolls on. Sam and Alise, thank you for encouraging others and being great a example.

I'm glad that you made the main in Paris, Alise. I'm sorry that you didn't medal. You gave it your all. You'll get a better gate pick in 2028. I've been a C5/6 quad since 2010 after a bicycle accident (a Redline BMX cruiser). When it comes to a workout program, I have the limits of a quad. But the videos I've seen, like this one, showing both of you in the gym (and Sam's big arms) make me want to up my workout game. Thank you for that. I promote adaptive sports when I meet other "wheelers" and on my KZbin channel - "Active Quad Steve Campbell." Exercise is medicine. ♿🤙💪😎

Absolutely crazy the two of Arguably Australia's best bmx riders have both had career ending injuries without seeing their full potential 😢
