Aliso Beach Shorebreak: Perfect for Skimboarders but Dangerous for Tourists

Aliso Beach is the most consistent wave in California for Skimboarding. While it can prove to be very dangerous for most, advanced skimboarders find this beach to be the ideal playground. The Shorebreak here is very unforgiving for your average beachgoer and even intermediate level skimboarder.

When I first moved to CA (1990) my first trip to the beach was Aliso Beach. I saw a man beak his neck in the shore break that day. Gave me a healthy respect for those waves.

“Ripping” as usual!! Q&A please. What’s the worst or some of the worst injuries you’ve had over the years? Also how much difference will I notice if I swap from my current 54” circle one epoxy skimboard to an exile board? :)

Not so sure what board you are talking about when you say a 54inch circle epoxy skimboard , but I can almost assure you an Exile would be better. especially if the board is an actual circle. The worst Injury I have had was a torn MCL that took a bit of time to recover from.
