This song will forever and always be synonymous with me as an 80's kid as it features in the background of the infamous clip of Den Watts serving Angie his divorce papers! That era was excellent for music. Dave Stewart co-wrote this too.

Well,it had to make do with number 3,in January 1987. The songs that stood between it and the top spot were the reissued Reet Petite by Jackie Wilson (which had been the Christmas number 1,accompanied by that bizarre claymation video),Caravan of Love by the Housemartins (which had been number 1 for a week before Jackie Wilson)and,about as contrastingly as you could get to the aforementioned two,Jack Your Body by Steve "Silk" Hurley (also a number 1 and one of the very first house music tracks to cross over to the mainstream chart).

Yo vivía en la ciudad de Caracas en los 80, y crecí escuchando esta música, me habría gustado que fueras al show Sábado Sensacional a cantarla, como hizo Laura Branigan con su tema autocontrol, habrías hecho vibrar al público.. Junto con autocontrol, flashdance, Blondy, los ojos de Betty Davis y otros hits de los años 80, está es una de mis canciones favoritas!!! I’ve always loved her and this song in soo amazing! But the show Top Pop, and Top Of The Pops….. oh that’s another story. As a musician for over 30 years I am having real trouble with watching how bad the “””musicians””” are ‘acting’. It’s like they never seen their respective instrument! Except for the bassist and the keyboardist, in this rare occasion. I’m sorry, I know it’s a “work related damage” for me, and that’s how the show was, but hey, at least Alison Moyet is there! So thank you for uploading this masterpiece. ☺️
