Unfortunately it is an antique violin about 260 years old and is one of a kind - it isnt a brand.

Alison Sparrow what strings do you use? Dominants seem to be the most popular in my view at least.

Dominants are just ok. They are good quality and last a long time, but that’s it - they have to particular tone or flavour (dark, rich, bright, velvety etc). Pirastros do some better strings but you need to look at each of the strings and what they are made of and what tone they will give then work out what you do and don’t like about your violin and choose from there.
