When Almost Lover came out I went through my first heartbreak. Time and time again over the last decade plus, I’ve returned to that song specifically. Seeking it out against the current of my life - love, loss, growth, change - I experience a constant backdrop that takes me back to the first time when I was a young girl of 18, thinking that heartbreak was the be all and end all of everything. Funny and beautiful. When Fantastic beasts came out, my favourite character was always Queenie. Could not get enough of her, felt like a kindred spirit. Imagine my absolute surprise as I returned to Almost Lover today (Jan 16, 2024) with a baby of my own, that A Fine Frenzy is Queenie. I can’t explain it. It’s more than coincidence, I’m almost sure of it. It’s… meant to be. All of it. The pain, the love, the uncertainty and doubt. It’s all alright. Meant to be.

Alison always makes great music. She deserves much much more in terms of views and subscribers. Even her A Fine Frenzy channel has 50k subs. She should have millions. I think people just have bad taste in music nowdays.

I've listened to Alison since I was a little kid, and after her long music hiatus I thought I was never going to get to see her live. Now I'm 24 and she has a BABY. I had the pleasure of traveling to London last fall to see the opening show of still come the night and she was absolutely magical and breathtaking. truly one of the very few artists that I loved when I was young and still love, if not even more, and WOW has her songwriting only deepened and matured with every project she puts out.

Alison has made a great piece of art from something so difficult. I know from speaking to other women at Alison's Rough Trade gig last year that this album has been cathartic for so many women. Hi. I listened to single now. The lyrics are pretty good to me. The music combined with it (drumming for instance) are impressive! Great song. As for music video, This certainly gave me goosebumps after watching half part of the video already. This is indeed hard to watch, but at a same time, amazing! All the acting is spot on good!
