My brother helped me land my 1st internship. It was not bad after that.

I am studying my second semester of Electrical engineering at a Community College in Kansas. Im worried about the internships due to 2 facts: I am studying at a community college and I am an international student. The things that I am doing to build skills are: *Learning how to code. (I'm currently learning programming logic, after that I will learn how to code in C) *I bought a electronics kit in amazon to learn the basics by myself and do some personal projects. Mainly because I want to start with an advantage once I take related classes. If you have a recomendation reply to me! Thanks.

Hey Ali, many thank for such a useful video! I am in going to begin university next year for year-one in (probably) computer engineering. I'm really confused about what I should do with my time throughout the degree. I know my university offers a 16-month co-op internship placement after the third year. To get a good co-op position I'm unsure if I should focus more on getting good marks, doing research with professors, doing smaller internships in years 1 and 2, doing design teams, or anything else really. I'd really appreciate it if you could help me navigate through this process. Thanks so much

Do all of that if you can. Soak in as much experience as possible. Take advantage of the schools opportunity, definitely go for the co-op programs as they will give you real world experience

do some electrical engineers work with electronics in like phones or pcs? or do you need a to be a specific title to do that and not just being an electrical engineer?
@alithedazzling Жыл бұрын
yeah of course, if you specialize in electronics

Hey Ali. Thank you for your informative and entertaining videos! I am in a Computer Science program and, after much consideration, looking to transfer to Electrical Engineering at Syracuse University. I am curious, going to school in NY, how did you participate in internships with NASA, JPL, and Northrop Grumman?
@alithedazzling Жыл бұрын
Honestly focus only on the first internship. It took me 2 years of applying and figuring things out to get my internship at Northrop Grumman, and once I had that it became easier to get the other ones. Super cool to see you're gooing to SU, I am from Syracuse :)

Hi Ali, I'm currently starting my second-year student in electrical engineering with no internship experience and technical skills to show off on my resume. I have really good grades and top of my class, but I'd like to ask what more can I do outside the classroom to give myself an edge over my peers. I tried to get into programming (specifical python) but it just wasn't for me. I find myself lost and sometimes questioning myself if this is the right path for me even though I really enjoy the classroom experience. I'd really appreciate it if you could suggest something I could get involved with to boost my employability and confidence overall as a prospective electrical engineer. Thank you.

What specifically do you enjoy about the classroom experience? Which class do you like the most material wise?
@oduolafuad57012 жыл бұрын
@@alithedazzling I think my lecturers are really good at what they do, I find it easier to comprehend math, physics principles, analytical and hands on concepts a lot better than abstract ideas, algorithms and diagrams. I wouldn’t say I find my classes too easy, they’re quite tasking but I think my innate ability and skills are better suited to them, i would say classes are just hard enough to appeal to my curious side and I’m able to exert and immerse myself in the content without losing interest. My favourite classes so far have been signals and systems, calculus 1, calculus 2 and electrical systems

@@oduolafuad5701 I see, you would likely enjoy working with radios. I would try to either get into amateur radio or get an RTL SDR and play around with detecting signals from nearby station, You don't have to write any code for it which is nice. I'd say you can also try to build some circuits using breadboards such as AM radio, if you live in the US you can order parts easily from sites like digikey. You can also try to get an arduino microcontroller kit and build some things with it, although that requires minimal software

Hey, I have a question. I'm currently a third-year student majoring in Computer and Communications Engineering. In the upcoming fall semester, I will be taking four different elective courses that cover the basics in my field of interest. These courses include projects that need to be completed as part of the curriculum. Do you think these courses will be enough for me to get an internship by the summer? Or I need to work on other projects?
