_Some interesting _*_mathematical facts_*_ of the year, 2025 :-_ 1. 2025, itself is a square *45 x 45 = 2025* 2. It's a product of two squares, *9² x 5² = 2025* 3. It is the sum of 3-squares, *40²+ 20²+5²= 2025* 4. It's the first square after the year 1936 *44 x 44 = 1936* 5. It's the sum of cubes, of all the single digits, from 1 to 9, *1³+2³+......9³ = 2025

Hello, a physics student here, i'll be finishing my master's degree next year. For me, it was never about being at the top of my class or competing with others. My goal has always been to learn as much as I can about physics and to develop my mathematical skills to the level needed for a PhD. If you were to ask me whether I want to outperform all the students, my answer would be no. But if you ask me whether I want to be the most knowledgeable and skilled in math, I would gladly say yes. i am not driven by being better but rather curiosity behind the world's theories.
@theexecutioner8181Күн бұрын
Wouldn't that mean ultimately you will top the class?
@aurorateemo3708Күн бұрын
@@theexecutioner8181 not really, if you study Physics,maths or engineering you would know that the key way to get goodmarks is to practice past papers and to get familiar with the structure, however, in my university at least some of methods and solutions need to be memorized because it requires more advanced math skills, i always do poorly in these kind of materials, and it was like 80% of the program in undergrad score.
@BIackholeКүн бұрын
I need this mindset so much, i also want a PhD (im a first year chemistry student) but i cant stop comparing my grades to others grades. I deeply know that being a good scientist does not mean having the highest grades but instead having skills and curiosty to think like scientist but i just cant stop.
@sugarplum7527Күн бұрын
As a medical student this is the exact mindset I have as well
@aurorateemo3708Күн бұрын
@@BIackhole I think Ali didn't mention an important point in the video, and that is emotional development. In order to be not just a better student but a better person, you need to fight coping mechanisms and insecurities such as procrastination and comparison. Always remember that your grades don't determine your intelligence; they just show how much you put into your studies. So instead of saying, 'They did better than me because they're smarter,' you need to say, 'They did better than me because I didn't put as much effort as they did.' With time, you will heal from comparison and just focus on comparing yourself to your past self. Once you achieve this step, the next thing you need to do is reflect on what went wrong and what made you score poorly. The main two factors are whether you don't understand the material well or if you didn't practice enough. goodluck future chemist!!

I’m 24, got my first degree in English, didn’t feel like following the available career paths, basically learned all of these principles the hard way, and now am pursuing a degree in chemical engineering. 4.0 GPA and I love every second of what I do now. Life is just a mind game, master yourself and you can do whatever you TRULY want to do. But that’s the trick, you must truly want to sacrifice and work for it.
@AlwaysTheHorizon4 күн бұрын
Another tip is to visualize the life you want. Similarly to how you suggested visualizing your death bed, mentally project yourself into the future that you want (or even the one you fear/don’t want!) Occupy that emotional space, and use the energy that this generates to focus you in your day-to-day tasks.

Dude ill comeback in 10 days.. im a physics graduate in Lebanon who was planning on seeking masters abroad but not knowing a bit if i should risk because of my average grades, i have massive potential that ive never really cultivated and i even majored in physics not even knowing why.. even though i liked it sometimes at times, i never really took my time like you mentioned with the serendpity vs focus spectrum, i always push through and lie to myself about it being my ultimate passion and what i wanna pursue, i seeked advice from all the wrong people and mentorship wasnt really available i suppose.. but now, and for the first time ever, it really hits different with this spontaneously random video, no BS, never have i ever felt advice hit me like you just did, i feel like risking it all careless to my surroundings and family and everything, i feel like dropping out of my current local fundamental theoretical physics masters program with all the tons of classes i have been ignoring to study as i write this on this first day of 2025 and actually delving into biology more as fast as i can to decide or perhaps something else if i stumble onto something new i wanna do.. who knows, perhaps biophysics? biology? music? the reason i mention biology is because i always thought of it, medicine and the human body as something id seek and felt passsionate about like it was what i wanted too as a kid, surprisingly i had literally zero interest in going for physics and it was my least favorite but i somehow hastily listened to my enthusiastic physics teacher's advice just because i was good at it, at all STEM actually, i know and am very aware that im not the same person and who knows? maybe physics is more of my thing than that at least now.. i never really write comments, long or short, and this might seem like oversharing to thousands of strangers, but i really felt like writing this, with the hope that someone who's stuck in the worst of a rut, courageously relating to at least a bit of this story and it helping them the way i dont necessarily had to resonate with the entirerty of this video, like all of us, anything actually. Man, Ali i hope i comeback after a while with you being the one reason why i actually, because of some cool successful lively guy's random advice, freely, set on the journey of living and changing my life to all ive ever wanted. "If you never try, you will never know" . Thank you for the profound advice, experience and knowledge, the small unseen affecting bits and i hope my lost self needed desperately.

I read through your long ass message and I totally understand you Go for whatever your heart desires man. You only live in this life once(depending on your belief) and you are only accountable to yourself. Remember, everyone has their own life to live, don't bother yourself by trying to please others. More often than not they end up respecting you

Dude you are a very good writer -- whatever you decide to pursue, you should write about it or share your experiences with others. My only advice is do the regret minimization exercise. Make sure you are in a good emotional state before making irreversible decisions such as dropping out of something. Try to have another plan or alternative. There's little context here so the only advice I have is trust your own intuition and accept responsibility if things go wrong, that will give you the freedom to do what you want deep down. You can come back and update us in a comment later !

I just gotta say, I have been loving your content the past few months more than anything else I have seen from your channel. This format of you going to the drawing board in real time, teaching us useful concepts and lessons in a manner that helps us visualize what it is you are trying to get across, is wonderful. Coming from someone who has kept up with your content for a while, there is something I find about your recent videos that has drawn me in more lately. I thought about it for a bit and I think it has to do with the recent thumbnails and titles. Your videos' thumbnails from a year ago have alot of colorful flashy graphics and big texts, and they kind of blended in with/ reminded me alot of the generic youtube influencer videos that the algorithm would push forth, and made me less willing to view them. Even though your content remained consistently brilliant anyway when I did eventually view them. Perhaps some psychological effect? The rather simple/natural ones as of late where I immediately see the chalk board with euler's equation for example, it feels more personal, if that makes sense. Versus the feeling of an influencer trying to clickbait me. Here I instantly go into the mindset of wanting to absorb information with a willingness to learn just from seeing it in my feed. I enjoy watching the channel of the math teacher Eddie Woo if he may be familiar, as this is what it reminds me of. However I may be the minority and the algorithm does not reflect my sentiments. In any case, keep up the phenomenal work as always Ali!

Hi Ali, thank you for sharing your insights. I’m an automotive technician who decided to pursue electrical engineering last year, and just finished my first semester of community college. Everyone told me I was going to struggle as a mechanic, and discouraged me. I pursued it without fear and even ended up in the German luxury automotive niche. Then when I said I wanted to be an electrical engineer, people discouraged me even more from it. I’m taking the same belief that carried me into a successful automotive career and applying it to EE. I give credit to your reminder of “EE isn’t hard” to keep me going. I resonated a lot with you saying the importance of understanding the mechanics of things, it’s helped me figure out how to use a lot of special tools in the field and improved overall critical thinking. Looking forward to my journey, appreciate this video for the new year. Happy new year to you!

But I’m in my first year of studying computer science, and what I originally wanted to study was architecture because it interests me a lot. I chose computer science because it opens more doors and will probably help me make more money, especially considering my country and my family’s financial situation. I do like math, and computer science is interesting to me, but it’s not a passion. I honestly doubt I’ll enjoy working in this field (but who knows, I guess?). So, what am I supposed to do? Should I stick with the studies that give me a better future or follow my passion and explore what I might enjoy more? (Because honestly, I don’t even know what truly excites me yet.)

I started doing a level 2 electrician mechanic course, and after that, I did a level 3 first electrician course and at last technical engineering (Electrical housing, utilities and industrial) at level 4 in the Netherlands. When I started at 16, it seemed like an unattainable task to finish al those courses/training. I am 21 now, this September I started Engineering (ME, Electrical and Energy), I am going to specialize in Electrical. Technical classes in Al those fields combined are so easy for me, and upcoming also because of the knowledge I attained from internships and school before. The only thing I struggle with is math. I am already kind of used to your way of “organizing” things in life. But still a good video, maybe a tip is to be a little calmer on video, you seemed nervous. Great video nonetheless!
