I’m so very sorry to hear about your dad, Monika. Having lost my dad when I was 15, and my mom just a couple years ago, I know the grief you must be going through. Just know things get better. I find comfort knowing that your parents continue living through you and your siblings. Find him in them and in yourself and you’ll see he’s still close to you. And continue making your parents proud, I’m positive your dad is so overjoyed to see the woman you’ve become. Peace be with you and your family. 🌞 On a side note, I’ll have to make it a point to watch Drive My Car after hearing you speak about it. I knew little about it besides it being based on a Murakami novel, who is an author I like. I’ll try to get to this soon!

Aww, I'm sad you didn't enjoy Bubble but I completely understand why you didn't. When I saw the trailers, I imagined something very different. I think it probably would've worked better as a series too but I still thought it was cute and enjoyed it for what it was. I really enjoyed digging later on and reading articles to pick the creators' brain. I like how they balanced a dark world with vibrant colors ^_^

Movies that I’ve seen lately: The Batman: just… chef’s fuckin kiss, man. This is easily one of my favorite comic book movies of all time and I think just sets such a huge precident for cbms moving forwards. 10/10 Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent: I was definitely expecting way more from this movie, but I genuinely loved Cage and Pascal’s chemistry together, and scenes where they really got to play off each other, like the scene where they trip on acid, are the absolute highlight for me. I also loved the meta aspect of the movie. 8/10 The Northman: I really really loved this movie. It probably won’t be my favorite of the year, but I really admire Eggers’ ambition with this movie. Skarsgard and Anya Taylor-Joy are easily the standouts, but Claes Bang as the villain is genuinely menacing. 9.5/10 Everything Everywhere All At Once: I would like to thank Daniels for my new obsession and for making one of my favorite movies of all time. 1000000000/10 The Bad Guys: genuinely a really cute and fun little movie with a surprising ammount of humor and heart to it, and a unique animation style. Easily Dreamwork’s best non Dragons of Kung Fu Panda related movie in years. 8/10 Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: on a objective and technical level, it’s a mess, but, I had more fun with this than I have with most recent MCU movies. This is the most fun I’ve had with the MCU since probably Thor: Ragnarok, even if, objectively, movies like Black Panther, Shang Chi and No Way Home are better made. I loved the campy horror aspects and Elizabeth Olsen absolutely stole the show, along with Xochtil Gomez. Is the script kind of a mess?? Yes. Yes it is. Have I seen it 3 times and had an absolute blast with it every time, discovering new things to love about it? Yes. Objectively: 7/10, subjectively/enjoyment wise: 9/10

The only one I haven’t seen is the bad guys! I just saw doctor strange and I agree completely. It was sooo much fun even though it was pretty messy and goofy (and i was definitely not expecting the horror elements haha), honestly it was super entertaining!

I'm really happy to hear this much love for Belle! It's quite possibly my favorite movie. The art, music and even the story was just so magnificent. It also inspired me to learn how to draw in the anime art style after seeing an anime film on the big screen for the first time. Everything Everywhere All At Once was the most bizarre movie I have ever seen. I can't really say anything about it except I kinda liked it I guess because it was just so weird and I'm kinda still unpacking it. The Nic Cage movie that I can never remember how the title is worded was fun but kinda a slog. I started to fall asleep in the theater near the end. It was funny and really encapsulated Nic Cage, but it was a bit under level for me. I'm sad to hear that you disliked Bubble. I saw it and thought it was a beautiful piece from a great studio. I thought the rushed pace improved the plot because that's what it's about, the fast paced world of parkour and the life span of a bubble. I think I'm just spitballing here but I do have good reasons to like this movie. Thank you for the glowing recommendation of Spy X Family. I'll put that at the top of my list. Interestingly, Spy is by the same studio I mentioned as Bubble, being Studio Wit. I was introduced to that studio with the show Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song, and I love how everything they make has so much attention and beauty to it. Thank you for another great video!

I saw The Batman three times in the theater and love it for the fact that Batman screwed up a lot (a point of contention for a lot of people). I really liked Last Night In Soho but I agree that the ending was awful in that she seemed to have no emotional fallout from accidentally buring an old woman/possibly killing that cop/almost dying to aforementioned old woman. Beyond that though it was well acted and paced I thought.

1. No you have not talked about Drive My Car. 2. I still haven't seen The Batman. 3. WHAT!?! YOU DIDN'T LIKE BUBBLE!?!? I'm genuinely shocked by this cause of all the movies I've seen all year so far. Bubble so far has been the best movie I've seen all year. Bubble is a cute anime movie that takes the plot of The Little Mermaid mixes it with the setting of Water World & the parkour action of District 13. While the animation is GORGEOUS, I think the movies biggest problem is the world building. Other than. I though Bubble was a really cute film. 4. I've been mainly re-watching anime shows and movies this past mouth with some non anime movies. So here is what I've been watching this past mouth: Anime shows I've re-watched: Paranoia Agent, Riding Bean, Birdy The Mighty: Decode, Grenadier: The Smiling Senshi, & My Bride is A Mermaid (ok more like re-watching the first half cause I've never seen the whole series and this makes me sad). Movies I've seen: Bubble, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Apollo 10 1/2: A Space Age Childhood, Chip N Dale: Rescue Rangers, Captain Nova, Choose or Die, YAKSHA: RUTHLESS OPERATIONS, Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045: Sustainable War, & The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure.

They had a lot of details and drama that could make it more interesting, but i dunno was just meh in the end

I liked Bubble! I just watched it two nights ago. Didn’t love it, but I liked it. It was rushed though, I agree. I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about Cyrano, but I haven’t seen it myself. It’s a bummer it’s not great because I adore the story of Cyrano de Bergerac. The one with Gerard Depardieu from 1990 is fantastic. I’d recommend seeing that one if you haven’t! You know what movie I saw recently and didn’t love? Emma with Anya Taylor Joy. It was visually beautiful, but the acting and delivery so cold and angry. I much prefer the 1996 Emma with Gwyneth Paltrow. It’s pleasant, lovely, and heartwarming.

I really apologize for being that guy, but you're definitely wrong when you say that Last Night in Soho has "no substance" and it's all "surface level". You're entitled to believe that the film gets repetitive for you and the ending didn't rub you the right way, but Last Night in Soho has by far one of the most brilliantly executed mysteries from a screenplay perspective and how it subtly unravels its layers as the film slowly descends into the horror behind the era that the main character worships so much because of the connection her family had with it. The character work is deeply striking, the atmosphere is vibrant yet also unnervingly haunting, the performances are incredible, the foreshadowing is masterfully done, its underlying themes are amazingly executed yet morally ambiguous, and the film has some of the best technical craft I've ever seen in a psychological horror. I totally understand if this film wasn't for you, but please don't say that it has no substance when that couldn't be further from the truth. Edgar Wright poured his absolute heart and soul into this film. I agree with everything you said about Belle, The Batman, and Everything Everywhere All at Once though.

If it isn't your style of humour, I completely understand your opinion. However, I found it hilarious, especially since I entered the room without expectations. My only real criticism is that the story feels a bit shallow. Like a pond that looks meters deep but once you jump into it, you find out the water comes to your knees. Nevertheless, the execution 100% made up for it.
