It's a common Sanda style. I noticed Chinese fighters fight very heavy usually. A lot of weight in their strikes. And they can keep it up it's pretty tricky do deal with that pressure (I do MT so not boxing rules). Sanda fighters are just shredded.

Decent fight, but also it proves the genius of Usyk. Usyk would set a pace and apply pressure neither of these guys could live with. Im not slagging these 2, but bigger = slower and Usyk has a gas tank that just doesn't empty. Just my opinion

Foolish people, this bout was held on August 22, 2022. Filip Hrgovic lost his last bout which was held in June, 2024 to the current IBF heavyweight champion, Daniel Dubois, on an 8th round stoppage. Zhilei Zhang has had mixed results since this bout, twice KOing Joe Joyce, losing a UD to Joseph Parker despite knocking Parker down twice in their match and most recently brutally KOing Deontay Wilder in the 5th round.

I scored it 6-6, with the knockdown in the first round giving Zhang the edge at 114-113. Alternatively, you could score it 7-6 for Hrgovic, making Hrgovic win by 1 point. Zhang clearly gassed out in the second half, and without those issues, he might have won more decisively. Both fighters were equally skilled-it was a great fight overall. I had Hrgovic taking 1 or 2 rounds in the first half (especially the 5th, which was super close), while Zhang grabbed only one round in the second half, the 9th. However, Zhang performed really well in the first half, and the knockdown in the first round gave him a significant edge.

Zhang promised much, but did not deliver, he had the opportunity to do some damage to Hrgovic in the middle rounds, but once Hrgovic had Zhang figured out, he became the dominant fighter. This shows that Joseph Parkers win over Zhang was no fluke.

The whole time watching this fight I was laughing at the commentators! What fight were they watching? Hrgovic won this fight .... the commentators had Zhang winning! 🤭🤭 115-112 Hrgovic! The "knock" down by Zhang in the 1st round was actually a push down and the accident butt of heads looked more intentional by Zhang than accidental! my opinion 🦂

Whatever training Zhang is doing for his fitness he needs to change. While he's fresh his punches are fast and devastating but if he's taken beyond 8 or so rounds he blows out too often. If he could cure that problem then he's virtually unbeatable.

For Usik this is a slow bag, it will not hit Usik. Zhang gets very tired after the first half of the fight, and Usik flies and shoots throughout the fight.

Fair decision. There was not much between them but you gat to give it to Hrogovic. Big Bang delievers heavy leather and knows how to put em together inside but what if the other guy can absorb em , fight back & step up the pace? Eventually age would tell and did, Zhang ran out of wind late, anyway I didn't like Filip technique, he pushes his punches a lil bit, I don't think Hrogovic has Championship caliber and Zhang is too old, you can see either thing easily.
