Damn!! My mom found her own lump in her breast 3 months after being at the doctor. She went in and it was breast cancer. She was done having kids she has 3 and she was in her mid 40s. She had both breasts removed fully and they said it runs with girly parts down there so she said take it ALL I don’t need it! She was cancer free “ “ until april 2021, she had back/ neck pain finally went to a chiropractor and he said please make an appointment with your doctor and he didn’t do anything. Cancer somehow during her breast removal one little cancer cell got out and went to her lymph nodes and traveled to her spine in many areas. It spread so fast she she chemo again and then it was in her eyes and brain. Did full brain radiation, it killed it all in her head but the rest of her body was covered in cancer. She passed away at 54 march 24th this year. She passed in my arms it was horrible! I’m so glad your better and cancer free thank you for sharing your story.

I’m so so sorry for your tremendous loss, I wish they grabbed all her borders when the dr remived her breasts. Did u test for the Braca gene ? It’s important to know ahead of time only because of your moms condition. I wish you well in your life and I’m sure you’ll be proactive just knowing .. sending you love 💗 n light 💡

GIRL!! First off.. I'm so sorry to say the least you went through this and I wish an im sorry could do anything but I know it can't. Secondly you have no idea the deep breath I also took in hearing this, because I had this happen to me as well around 18 years old and at 19 was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had a full thyroidectomy too , no chemo, no iodine therapy or anything of the sort. But it took YEARS for me to get the right dose of synthroid and the balancing act of managing the levels continues to be a real bitch, as well as visiting the doctor three times a year for life. I applaud you for putting your story out there, I plan on showing this to my family, so they can really continue to understand this chronic condition and hear it from someone else besides me. My mother died of cancer when I was 17 years and my brother lost all so the fight to cancer 4 years ago ! It is a terrible decise, but so glad I hear this story with a good ending ! Never noticed your scar. Congrats on the 10 year milestone. Thyroid problems run through the females of my family too. No removals as far as I know cuz here in Ireland, they're slow to remove unless very very problematic. Thyroid hormones are very important for us and without meds to replace them, we'd be up shit creek without a paddle. Btw you're a handsome couple .

I had a huge lump in my neck as well, was a tumor on my right thyroid gland, which was biopsied and then removed. My surgeon was amazing - my scar is low on my neck, in the collar bone area, and just looks like a 'necklace'. My remaining thyroid gland worked for about a year, then gave up on me, been on replacement hormones since 1995. A few years ago I had to have a carotid artery scan and nodules were found behind my left thyroid gland. Biopsies were done, and I have been having scans and tests every six months since to keep an eye on things. So far so good, I'm 66 and not feeling like I want to go through that surgery again. Hope things keep going well for you

My sister had the same situation as you did but her scar didn’t heal nicely. Wish she was like you and not care so much. My sister only wears clothes that covers her heck. Also congratulations on being cancer free.👏🏻👏🏻

I had to have this done as well. I just saw a new surgical procedure that goes through the bottom lip to remove the thyroid instead of the front of the neck. Great news for future generations! My scare has faded over the years but still very noticeable.

I have had the same thing done, I had developed nodules on my thyroid & had 3/4 of my thyroid removed. Mine were benign thankfully, I sounds like a man for weeks 😂 Glad you recovered quickly Alix. xx

Congratulations on 10 years Cancer free.. When I was 27 I had Ovarian cancer and had 15 tumor on my left over and 10 pound one on my right. Got a full hysterectomy. Thank God I had my 2 children early. My daughter now has the same thing going on her except she had a 10 pound Cyst on one of her ovaries..they caught it when she had miscarried at the age of 18.. she has P.C.O.S..and Endomitosis and Adomitriosis.. I had all the same as above.. thank God no cancer cells were found at that time they went in and did a biopsy.. they have told her the Cyst are starting to grow back and may turn into tumors. She just turned 30, and has been trying so hard to have just one baby before they will probably go in and have to do the full hysterectomy like they gave me. I pray everyday for her and for her wish to come true. I am 50 today and have been Cancer free since age 27 Thank You God and The Lord Jesus. I pray your babies don't have to suffer through what you and your mother and grandma had to suffer through. ❤❤❤

Same! I just had my surgery last 11/13/2023.. initial plan is Thyroidectomy ended with Lobectomy (partial) my right side, didn't spread on my left.And yes that's true its categorized as cancer.

He def made your scar super noticeable , you can barely see mine and it blends into the natural lines on my neck . Sorry you had to go through that scare . Mine was removed at 19 so almost 30 years now I have had to take meds and I can only take the name brand

I had papillary carcinoma in my early 20s. Complete thyroidectomy as well. I had two tumors in my neck 😩 also had to have radiation. I, too, have a scar on my neck and have to take hormones the rest of my life.

This video could not have come on my for you page at a more perfect or scary time. I just found your channel Iike yesterday. I literally have a huge lump growing on my lymph node in my neck that started a few months ago after I got Covid for the first time and I have a biopsy appointment with a cancer surgical specialist next week. I work in the OR so I had the opportunity to ask the surgeons I work with to check it out and they seemed concerned. I’m scared 😢 crazy this is the topic of the video…maybe it’s a sign

My friend has that in her family it was grandma daughter granddaughter. So I think just letting your pediatrician know and keeping an eye on any symptoms. Her sister was put on it at a very young age like 7

Did your doctors ever perform genomapping? My son is genetically predisposed (he has PTEN hamartoma tumor syndrome) to specific types of cancers/tumors benign and malignant. Thyroid cancer is one that he is specifically predisposed to. We surveillance him annually (thyroid U/S) and we will do other imaging earlier than was is typically recommended, like colonoscopies. It just gives us an edge up on finding something before it becomes advanced.

Thyroid issues are common in women. Your scar is very faint and I'm told thyroid cancer is the least of the cancers to stress about. I had a benign tumor on one side of my thyroid gland removed probably 50 years ago. Some people have issues after the procedure as well as getting their dosages adjusted. As long as it's monitored you're ok. I enjoy watching your channel.♥️

When I saw the scar I had a feeling it was from a Thyroidectomy. I had my thyroid removed last year and have a scar too. The thyroid is so little, but the problems it can cause are so big!

Awe!!! I had Hodgkins lymphoma when I was fifteen I did have to do a little chemo and radiation and the treatment caused me to have an under active thyroid and start on medicine for it before I turned 17. They did my biopsy by removing the large lymph node that was the reason we got me looked at in the first place it stuck out the side a the bottom of my neck. I used to joke that I got in a bar fight and someone tried to cut my throat with a nail file lol and people always believed it specially early on when is was still a wound they believed me even though we were in high school. Sometimes I did say it happened in the parking lot at school maybe once or twice cuz I didn’t think they’d believe the bar fight thing but learned soon enough I didn’t have very smart peers. Bahahaha!

Id like to know the name of this incredible Oncologist who removed ALL of the cancerous cells on your thyroid. What an amazing Doctor ! I say this because people who go into remission only to have the cancer come back, is due to the surgeon not being able to remove all the cancer and the cancerous cells. What usually ends up happening, is these missed cells are still in your body and by not removing these bad cells, they begin to travel throughout the body and metastasize (spread) which is why cancer is considered at that point, to have returned, which usually ends with that patient dying. Surgery can cause these cells to move throughout the body by disrupting them during the procedure, which causes them to spread. This is why it is so important to remove ALL that has been affected by the cancer as well as any of its cancerous cells. You are one lucky lady to have had this Doctor as your Surgeon. He saved your life!

My younger sister had a total thyroidectomy and also has to have thryroid replacement medication for the rest of her life. She had whats knowen as 'graves disease'. (Such a horrible medical term) I do remember this one time she forgot to take her medication and became really unwell. She now knows how vital it is that she takes her medication EVERYDAY. (I love to say total throidectomy - makes me feel somewhat sophisticated. 😉
