For everything she said (no need to say sorry), we felt the sincerity of her message, and we cried with her as well. The Phils is increasingly becoming a favored destination for retirees from other countries. After one of my bosses retired years ago, he established a caregiver home for ageing Japanese pensioners. Before the pandemic, I also took part in numerous charity drives. The unforgettable ones where I nearly cried rivers of tears were when we visited the various orphanages in Metro Manila and an elementary school in Bontoc, Mountain Province in northern Phils. We brought boxloads of apples when we visited those kids in Bontoc. The kids were so happy because they rarely get to eat apples and we also gave them simple/cheap toys. The kids were very appreciative and they guarded our bags while we went hiking in the mountains, right before we went back to Metro Manila.

@Kabalen International Americans often retire to Angeles City because that's where Clark Air Force Base used to be. Americans and Europeans both retire to the city of Dumaguete. But there are lots of places to retire to in the Philippines. And I'll bet 50,000+ Filipino-Americans retire to the Philippines each year. The fashionable place to retire to is Bonifacio Global City, an area that is part of Manila. But I'd advise you to learn a lot of things before you go from the point of view of an American who loves the Philippines but can also open your eyes to what to be on the look-out for, as would be the case in any country that's foreign to you.

Good thing about filipinos are most of them are very welcoming when it comes to foreigner because they think they are superior.. But when manileno meet bisaya, most of them degrade them and act like superior.. I think the deep root why filipino act like this is because of slave-mentality since we're occupied by Americans and Spanish for hundred of years. Anyway I also love the good side but let's be real, it's a double edge sword that we're respectful on foreigners but don't do the same with filipinos... Me myself obviously have blood of chinese (which I don't tell them), whenever I'm in Davao, as long as I speak tagalog, they act so nice on me... I feel like I'm foreigner in my own country sometimes lol

New sub here. Just got back from the Philippines 2 weeks ago and I still tear up when I think about how good Filipino people are. I’ve been living here in Texas for a few decades now and I want to go back to my roots in the Philippines and I’ve decided to retire there. I miss the simple life there and I remember growing up there being poor but happy times. As long as we have food to eat for the day, we’re good. We don’t have toys but we make up games out of nothing and we’re happy. We don’t have car so we walk or ride tricycle or jeepneys to get around. You both are so kindhearted to feel that way about my country and gives me so much pride and I do thank you both. Y’all made me cry again thinking about the Philippines and the people.

every time i see vlogs like this, it gives me chills and calmness, knowing there are foreigners out there showing empathy, love and understanding the Filipino way of life. of course, there are those who are above poverty line, but most are unfortunate ones simply because of the way they're being brought up from the time they were born . there are still people fighting off their situations just to make do and some are fortunate than others being able to surpass those predicaments. your nostalgic expression of having stayed in the Philippines, expressing your joy and happy times during your visit gave me some semblance of pride, knowing you were taken care of during your stay. thank you for sharing, and God bless....

I cried here too, and I think your TEARS will catch much attention to those who can make it a better world for the street children. I have been in Japan twice in the early 80s as a musician and I find the people and culture beautiful too. I almost got married to a japanese girl. I think I can still speak a little japanese. Pls don't hesitate to come again because it's normal here again since March 2022. I can walk you around once you're in Metro Manila (Quezon City) Mata ashta ne!
