I agree. He may not have been the hottest guitarist, the primary vocalist or the main songwriter. But his looks and voice were/are part of the unique soup that makes the Beach Boys what they are! Much the same could be said of Otis Williams of The Temptations.

I've had the opportunity to meet Al Jardine on a couple of occasions and he is a genuinely nice guy. Also a fantastic singer and artist. Can't begin to describe how much the Beach Boys have meant to me during my life and Al is such an important part of their music. Parenthetically, I was so pleased to see Jeff Foskett in the birthday video looking and sounding good. Fantastic musician, good person.
