With a society shifting farther to the right and a media landscape that echoes the government’s narrative, how has the war changed at all for Israeli society? And what future awaits Israelis who oppose the actions being done in their name?

We needed the change we had in 1994 and the truth & reconciliation committee revealed to us the high level of crimes committed during apartheid. I do understand that asking people to just up and move is unrealistic and possibly ignorant, Still I see many people that say, why don’t the Palestinians just up and move to Jordan or Egypt and go live in tents in the desert. The question still remains though, how could anyone live in such a place knowing that their very presence in that place is the cause of untold suffering, misery and dehumanization. Moving forward is going to require the population to double down on the prison camp model. I have seen the supposed plans they have for Gaza when the hot war is over and it is worse than anything I have ever seen. Two million Arabs already live in Israel in relative peace and harmony, enjoying equal rights. Some even serve in the IDF. How many Jews would be allowed to live in a future Palestinian state? You cannot build a nation based on hate and whose founding charter seeks the destruction of its neighbour, and this is exactly what many Israelis fear. After the events of Oct. 7, any hope of a peaceful resolution to this long-standing conflict were dashed for at least one or maybe even two generations. In Europe we had to learn the hard way to get along with our neighbours. We now have tensions building up as millions upon millions of people from Africa and the Middle East have settled here. Many European cities are now unrecognisable. Should we do the same as the Palestinians and kick out these colonisers too?
