They are simply humans who want a better life. You see Africa has literally one of the lowest Debt to GDP ratios of any continent. They dont even have 1 trillion dollars worth of debt for all the countries combined. Its crazy because most people have the perception Africa is large borrower/debter. They aren't though! Large Western banking interests who go through places like the Caymans, Jersey and other "Enlgish" tax havens do business with the powers that be in Africa. literally over 5 times worth of Africas total debt gets put into Trusts and other off shore investments by Africas rich. The people see NONE of it and as a result the states don't develop or provide jobs. The people aren't that educated about why or how their country is being used so they just want to get away to somewhere they think will be better. The people who do understand what is happening with the state are either willing players contributing to the flight of capital and benefitting from it or people so dependent on the system to get by to do anything about it. I understand the frustration but try to remember it isn't a simple problem and that these are people with hopes, dreams, emotions just like everyone else. People who deserve to be treated with dignity and respect as long as they treat others in the same manner.

I'm half Gambian from the UK and know the reasons for many ppl leaving Gambia to go to Europe, my cousin actually crossed to ocean to Libya. It was mainly because of the extremely brutal dictator Yaya Jammeh who was a psychopath. Now he has gone and there is democracy again in Gambia. Hopefully now Gambians stay and start again with the help of the new government. An increase in foreign investment needs to be the first step. Every gambian that has left, it is their aim to go and make money in the west and send it home to build houses and stuff for themselves and their families, because they know europe is not their home but their is money. However, the only thing i cant still understand is how a such gigantic continent called AFRICA that proudly have an immense landscape of unique flora and fauna, thousand of kilometres of land that can be used for agriculture and massive solar panel fields. Not to mention the endless natural resources like coal, gold, minerals, oil, diamonds and on and on. In brief, these people can live way better than we do here in saturated Europe. So why there are countries that are ravaged by famine , diseases and wars in AFRICA? Also, why the majority of the economic migrants come from the former French colonies? in my most humble opinion, it doesnt make sense still opening the ports and let thousand of people coming in. This is an unbearable situation for Italy. The problem has to be solved down there and somebody from somehwere has to be held responsible for what is happening in Africa, the poorest continent on Earth but with the most abundant resources.

Most Italian workers get about 750 euros a month. So the immigrants are much better off with 1000 euros a month & they never have to work one day.All Italians should ask to be deemed non Italian & get 1000 a month without working.
