The US really does create some technologically advanced ordinance. But the disadvantage of it is that when your contractor is turning out 30-40 missiles a month at $400K each. You might have 1500 in inventory and your allies have at most 10% of that to contribute and you're faced with 1000 inbound targets. Some targets that cost only 3% of what you're trying to defeat them with, yet if they get through they could cause millions in damages, even take out critical infrastructure, you've got a problem. Now, add to that that they have 10K more advanced weapons to follow that up with. Oh, and you already gave up half your inventory to two countries that are using them, one against a colonizing invader, and the other to a colonizing invader.
