This is the story of the extraordinary life of the Pashtun leader Bacha Khan, who fought to end British colonial rule in northwest India by non-violent means at the same time as Mahatma Gandhi campaigned across the rest of the country.
Khan was from the border region straddling parts of present-day Pakistan and Afghanistan. Even though he advocated peaceful resistance, he still spent 15 years in jail. When Britain granted Indian independence in 1947, Khan initially opposed its partition into two separate countries, India and Pakistan. He later backed down - but then called for an autonomous "Pashtunistan", which landed him in jail again, this time under the new Pakistani government.
When Bacha Khan died in 1988, aged 98, hundreds of thousands of mourners paid their respects and India, Pakistan and Afghanistan all lowered their flags in tribute. Until recently, Khan was written out of school history books in Pakistan, but he is now recognised for his achievements as an educator, campaigner and opponent of colonial rule.

Aljazeera, now come and see the centre of Bacha Khan's descendants politics in his hometown, Charsadda. The Pakhtuns hate the politics of the descendants--the politics of their own personal interests. The party in recent past was weakened by the corrupt clique in its midst, known Easyload Babas and SMSs. Their politics has been buried once and for all. In recent general elections, the part almost completely lost to the opposition candidates, particularly, PTI. The party's no sincerity to Pakhtuns' interests has kept them aloof from their current politics. Bacha Khan and Wali Khan were no doubt honest but the following descendents were and are corrupt through and through!

Frontier Gandhi was a congressman fought against British imperialism using Non violence. His grandson says “where and when did Allama Iqbal even whispered about two nation theory” , this interview is also available on youtube till date. In India Bacha Khan is still alive in the history books of schools but in Pakistan he was blamed as a traitor, his only sin was to work for the freedom of this area and was against any partition but after Pakistan came into being he accepted it with from his heart. To educate an ethnicity whose people are born warriors & who believe to solve problems with weapons rather than peaceful negotiations, that type of community members were made Non-violent through the teachings & vision of The Great Abdul Ghaffar Khan aka Baccha Khan , is an unrealistic achievement. His services to his people are too much to be ignored. Finally, getting recognition on worldwise through digital media, setting an inspiration for new generation ❤❤
