poor zara, she didnt choose to be sold, and separated from her real parents, so why the malaysian government is refusing to give her rights of citizenship? :( the whole thing is disgusting, i cant even believe this is happening in the 21st century !!
@shinachikudidnthappen..mov91968 жыл бұрын
Sad, isnt it? The mother goes on legal and honest route to have her status officialized. Yet JPN prefer those of the same situation to be choosing corrupted bastards like the Ghama doctors to have their children formally recognized. Like one of those authorized car dealership lol. 8 years and counting, still not Malaysian citizen because the mother refused to go to that "authorized car dealer".
In Malaysia, money is king. So if you have enough money, nothing is out of reach. This problem would've been settled if the woman would be willing to 'grease the palms' of the JPN official. It would be pretty expensive, but it would've been done quietly and fairly quickly out of view of anyone. Another reason is pure laziness. There are allowances for special cases, but the officials really don't want to do this due to the paperwork and effort involved. In Malaysia, government positions are known as easy jobs, because they only need to do routine work and will be paid high with assured bonus once a year. There was really no need for them to work too hard. Heck, I once had a government position and my diligence was routinely brought down by the laziness and 'don't care' attitude of the more veteran government employees. I quickly left because I realized that I was becoming just like them.

Anyone you ask on the street can tell you that if you buy a puppy from a puppy mill, you will not stop the abuse and cruelty towards the puppies in those mills. The same principle applies here: You would only be feeding the human traffickers that abuse these children in that way. You want to help those babies? Help mothers keep their babies in the first place! Help them out financially, that is often the only barrier parents and mothers face to keep their children. Help them by putting pressure on lawmakers to pass laws to protect them. But don't go and participate in the trafficking. Because no child that you would do it to would thank you for it. After all, you would only have given their traffickers more money to do the same thing to more children.
@ellamary39566 жыл бұрын
No don’t do that you encourage it
@soulsunshine1086 жыл бұрын
The adopted babies are actually not at a such a risk. If someone buys them, it is because they want them. Of course they will care for them after paying the so-called adoption fee and making them as their own child. It sounds like the ones who get sent to beg are the unwanted ones, basically abandoned and then trafficked, rather than sold. The issue is more that no woman should make the decision to give up a baby based on money. For some of the mothers, it seems worthwhile for what they get paid. And the middlemen are just sick, profiting on this madness.

Try to find the roots of the problem.It was mentioned that Chinese babies are more expensive and difficult to find. Why? Because Chinese in Malaysia are in most more reach layer than the average. Woman buys child from traffickers for $3,000. Is surprised when she struggles to legally adopt and get a passport for the child. That's an example of Malaysia's legal system working; not failing.

Thank you Al Jazeera for this eye-opening investigation. As a Malaysian myself I am truly astonished by the fact that this kind of horrible dealing happens around the country without even knowing about it. Nevertheless, I pray that this issue reaches the local authority and that they would do their best to stop it from rapidly growing.

These stories have often sidelined in favour towards "sensational" news on petty politics and empty statements. Just two days ago, IGP just released another statement in response to Al-Jazeera's investigation on this matter. Some of you may have guessed it; IGP denies Malaysia is a baby selling and trafficking hub but strangely enough, able to give a figurative statement of the arrests made for baby selling on the various part of Malaysia.

I can attest to this. My dad's cousin adopted his daughter through these people. It took years for them to adopt a child legally that they finally resorted to such means. Another case: My aunt was an Indonesian and her brother manage to become a Malaysian citizen when he was young unlike her (took 10 years and married to a Malaysian to get the citizenship). Their mother paid money to a family who had their son died of illness, didn't report his death, use the birth certificate and become the legal son of the family. That's it. No question asked.

First of all,I would like to pay my highest tribute to Al-Jazeera for yours braveness and courageous to reveal this darkside in our country. So,this is the "real" Satu Malaysia(?) that emcompasses 3 races in our country to run this shameful business.Malaysia de facto is a beautiful country but somehow it has been hijacked and manipulated by those evil person that simply had ruined the country.Infant are the precious gift bestowed by God but not the commodity for sale in the market!Never they think about the retribution?I hope I got the rights to punch and sentence them all to jail!

i think youre confused: because that's the least of their problems..many of the trafficked babies and children, the ones who *don't* get rescued, get abused in many ways: sexually molested, they get disfigured in painful ways so when old enough they can be forced to be enslaved in working in begging rings/syndicates, they get ritually abused and or ritually murdered..too many horrible things to list them all here.

With adoption getting harder , as well incredible lengthy, no wonder people like this can pop up like mushrooms. Some parents like to adopt new born babies to bond, but by the time the process is finish, this children can walk. All governments are corrupt and greedy, it's time show power and greed. They can get all the information before the baby is born.

This is heartbreaking I wish these women wouldn’t find themselves in situations like this ..... lord protect these babies I hate thinking they’re being sold to the wrong people without a second thought 💭😭😭😭 these kids are being sold for cheap a thousand isn’t anything to America but they are willing to sell it all .... we need to come together as people and stop the madness .... even the unwanted children will have to suffer in another city if they are not bought or killed .... put the women on birth control, give them aid if they do decide to keep their babies and protect the newborns at all cost .... so horrible babies don’t deserve this

thank you Al Jazeera for this documentary, as Malaysian I dont know this kind of trade happened in Malaysia as I never heard or watch our media cover this kind of story
@jordymarek62905 жыл бұрын
This is why we need adoption reform. We need better laws. We need to make adoption cheaper then $30-60k a child. If we lower costs, we make it harder for these type of people to do criminal activity because people wouldn’t have to come up with mass amounts of money to adopt a child. When people lack money and are desperate, these people will always have buyers. It’s truly sad and sickening.

I want something to be done, for the mothers and the babies... I am praying for them! Desperately clinging to hope for a better future!
