@@atrio1136 I watched an interview with Matt a few weeks ago and he mentioned for the first time they wrote together in the studio, and went on to say Derek wrote that intro. I'll link ya to the interview, it's excellent but Matt was quite creative throughout the album, he also mentions how he didn't want to do just power chords. 🤘

It is one of their best because it's probably got the freshest sound when compared to the closest predecessor. And what I mean by that, is a lot of older albums sounded similar to the one before it. This one doesn't sound much like ITTC, even though I love that album too.

It's just they didn't capture the songs as well as they were live. Hearing my Shane is true live is amazing. But the album feels slightly underdone in terms of they could've made the songs sound better. From here to Infirmary and id this thing cursed are also good but as albums dont stand up as well to the others.

I’m only on 2nd play through, but IMO this is their best album in at least a decade, if not longer. As much as I miss Derek on drums, Atom’s given them a different punch on a lot of the songs and Matt’s songwriting has a new urgency I haven’t felt for a while. Enjoyable

Maybe the most metal Alkaline Trio has ever been, in the riff. Once the verse starts, it's classic. Matt and Dan are timeless. Sorry to their current drummer. Much respect, but they've shifted drummers a lot. Matt and Dan are our greatest living poets. Somehow it's always fresh and new, but feels like I jammed to this in my Pontiac as a teeneager. Every album. Every single one is the best. Fuck you, other commenters. I don't care if you're with me or without. Just, fuck you. This is my thought.

Big fan here and I'm in agreement with your comment. Sound is muddy overall on every song I've heard on this record. I'm hoping it's a better sounding mix on the vinyl. Could be just shitty through my phone.
