3.29 Personally my favourite Alkaline Trio song in 'Good Bye Forever'. It's an early song that has a fantastic guitar rift by Matt Skiba (accompanied by a melodious lyrical style that is both hypnotic in it's softness and grating in his yelling), an astounding bass riff (that is slick, detailed, relaxed, and yet somewhat perfunctory in the way he plays it), and the energetic and exiting drumming that accompanied the song (I apologise as I can't remember who drummed for you in that track, but it was great).

No, it's been there. I saw a docu-style clipshow of behind the scenes with the band from YEARS ago, where Matt talked about living with Dan and climbing between their house and a neighbor's then diving through Dan's window to get in when the bar would take his keys, and feeling guilty for "Silence of the Lambs fucking SWAT team at 4 AM"-ing Dan. They also talked about renting a bounce house when they'd throw parties because the cops that came to respond to a noise complaint would get distracted and just ask questions about the bounce house because they were gonna rent one later.

Saw them a couple weeks ago and Matt was playing the wrong chords to songs and singing the wrong lyrics. I mentioned to my buddy that it looked like he was messed up on Opiates. This interview makes me wonder that even more. Matt is sweating a bunch, has the unmistakable Opiate raspy voice, and stumbling through answers. Dan seems super composed and shoots Matt weird looks throughout the entire interview. I hope I am wrong, but if I am not I hope Matt is able to figure this all out.

+Goyi Rom No he's still a member of the band but he's just taking time off for health reasons and isn't joining them on this current tour. The touring replacement they have is Jarrod Alexander and i just saw Alkaline Trio live a couple weeks ago at Boston house of blues and it was amazing and his touring replacement was so good that it almost felt like nothing was missing but yeah Derek is still a member of the band but he's just taking time off cause apparently liver issues.
