This a delightful orchestration, and something I've always wanted to hear! Could just be my imagination but I feel like the orchestrated version has echoes of Mendelssohn ... I wonder if Alkan could have been thinking of Mendelssohn at all ...

This is a very epic rendition to put reality to the imagined symphony we all wonder exactly what wouldve been... that being said it sounds a bit electronic and synth like so not sure if I buy this as a real orchestration.. but still wonderful!

I'd love to learn more about who were your historical models for this orchestration? It's said that Alkan was influenced by Berlioz as an orchestrator but this does sound more Mendelssohnian at times. In any case, great work!
