On Combustion Man I believe he seemed to be able to create bigger explosions with his bending compared to P'Li. But yeah P'Li could curve it as well, so yeah it's definitely debatable

There was another character we see Lava Bend, if only briefly. When Roku explains the Avatar state and we see flashbacks of past Avatars demonstrating it, the Fire Avatar before Yangchen made the volcanoes behind him erupt. On a side note, pretty sure Lava comes from having a bending lineage for both earth and fire, Bolin being the prime example.

Yes they don't understand they think amon could take away bending just like aang but what aang does is different. Aang completely takes over someone's bending power permanently and covert them to non bender human while amon doesn't do that he uses bloodbending and with that he permanently blocks the chakras and chi with which a person can bend and make them think that there bending is gone and they aren't a bender now but in reality they are only difference is they can't release that energy or chi since amon has blocked it and since no one is a a skilled blood bender as skilled as amon so they can't even unblock it even Katara who is a bloodbender couldn't do anything to unlock Korra bending until aang came and used energy bending to unlock Korra bending energy and korra used the same thing on others.

@@shounenking313issue is that if aang needed to use energy bending to give korra her bending then that means amon actually took it away. For example lets say there’s a tank of water. Aang creates a pipe to allow the water to flow, or takes away the pipe in order to stop the flow. In korra’s case her pipes were simply blocked according to this statement. U cant give someone two of the same ability. So korra wouldve had four blocked pipes. I dont see how aang wouldve given her bending back if this is the case. Since he can only give or take away bending. It makes more sense that amon simply took away the capacity to bend in the first place rather than block the abolity from being able to manifest

In my opinion, lightning bending was supposed to be an air technique. Lightning occurrence is more related to weather. There had to be a fire technique in lava bending. In lava, it's very hot like fire.

It's still make sense for an earthbender to bend lava. Afterall, lava is just liquid earth. But I would theorise that in order for an earthbender to be able to lavabend, he/she must possessed a minor-fire chi that he/she get through 1 of his/her parents. Like Bolin, who is an earthbender, but has a minor fire pre-disposition chi through her firebending mother.

I find Lava bending not a plothole because of the writing between avatar and a normal earth bender, although it does make sense but I find it a plothole because of the logics in it You see, it does make sense for an Earthbender to control Lava, given that Lava is literally just molten rocks, if you can control metal through impurities (which means you're not bending the actual metal, but rather you're enforcing the impurities to push the metal in order to bend it), then bending molten rocks in order to control the Lava as a whole is pretty valid my problem instead, stems from the fact that even though it's molten rocks, it is still by all means... *molten.* meaning it needs heat, it needs to be heated to the point it reaches that sort of liquid-thick form of lava but in Korra they bent Lava out of normal ground... what? Like, yes, there's pretty much Lava everywhere around the world beneath us, but that's like WAY below the ground Even if you were able to bend something TOO FAR, for it to come out the surface would still take a massive amount of time but in Korra they just take it out as if it's just 3 meters below. It also doesn't make sense to just convert the ground right below into Lava that quick, in fact I find it illogical for an Earthbender to be capable to make lava like that because they still would require heat to turn it into lava, which is more in line for a firebender to take that job that'd be the only place I would find the plothole correlate to the Avatar, because as is, an earthbender still makes sense to bend already-made Lava, but for the creation of it- it would still require the need of a fire and an earth bender or just straight up being the Avatar to do so

The woman was so powerful and versatile she was able to CHILL bodies to prevent bloodflow/blood loss. I always thought that Avatar specific bending would be cooler. Like you said Lava Bending would be a combo of Earth and Fire. And how about Steam Bending being Water and Fire. Cloud bending could be Water and Air. Plant Bending would be Water and Earth. Lightning could have been Air and Earth. Invisibility could be Air and Water. I could go on. I think its probably better the way it is giving more characters more options. But, it would be cool to have Avatar Aang and Korra use these various combinations to make them overpowered after mastering the basic four elements. It would give them a logical power creep in later episodes as tools for their success that they have to creatively use in difficult situations. It would be a great way to keep the action exciting and fresh and difficult situations a way to demonstrate creative problem solving. I can already see Sokka brainstorming a plan asking Aang if combining two or three elements to try some sort of creative escape plan.

these are all possible with single elements water is shown from day 1 to be all forms of water. invisibility would just be bending air to then bend light reflecting off it no need for water. earth has n relation to plants themselves as earth bender cant control plants only rocks. and lava is just an earth form change

at the end of the day, steambending is still a waterbending only technique, plant bending only makes sense for waterbenders, and invisibility isnt a thing in the avatar universe💀and lightning is only a firebender only technique too. all you said was a bunch of gibberish…

​@@itsketchup8114 Its not gibberish. Just because that's not how it works in the world of Avatar doesn't mean that's not how it could have worked. You lack imagination. Let's take lightning for example. In real life lightning has literally nothing to do with fire. It can cause a fire, but here's a literal Google search for a Lightning bolt "In the initial stages of development, air acts as an insulator between the positive and negative charges in the cloud and between the cloud and the ground", hence I combined Air and ground. I suppose adding water as a third element would have made more sense to form the cloud, literally every element except fire makes sense in the real world. You wanna run that "gibberish" comment by me again?

My theory about why lavabending is so rare is because one requires a lineage of both earth and fire benders like Bolin, whose father came from the earth kingdom and was likely an earth bender and his mother was from the fire nation and she most likely was either a fire bender or had several in her family

I'm pretty sure had katara tried, she couldve blood bent outside of the full moon. She was more that a waterbending prodigy (seeing as she went from bending noob to master in a matter of months since the entire show takes place less than a year)but katara hated blood bending and only did it when she absolutely had to, so of course she wouldn't do it outside of a full moon. Almost like she was intentionally handicapping herself for fear of what she could truly accomplish because she didn't want to hurt people just to better herself

Airbending deserves a third special ability too. ''Musicbending'' it is the extremely rare ability from Airbending, similar to Seismic sense, users are able to ''see'' sound waves travelling through the air in various colours and can therefore map out what is around them without visually seeing it. Musicbenders have a more heightend sense of hearing and are also empaths because they can tell how a person is feeling form the sound of their voice or heartbeat.

Bolin had a firebender and earthbender for parents. Ghazan probably did too. Before LoK, there wasn't much intermingling of the different cultures in quite some time, so there probably weren't many people who were kids of both element benders

This is my theory on how Amon takes bending, if blood bending manipulates every vein and muscle in your body, it could be possible to shut it down, it’s like chi blocking except it’s bending blocking basically , I think Amon touches the brain to (how do I say this without sounding stupid) like interrupt the brain like mess up the way it thinks so it can’t execute bending and touching the heart blocks the chi that allows you to bend? So it could be possible to get bending back by reversing the process.
