@@stareater1870 TBH when I caught it I was actually looking for a Ralts to use against the fighting gym. I didn't find a Ralts until later after I created a hideaway, and stacked it with Psychic statues.

@@dermywermy080 I FOUND ONE. Nature wasn't to bad, but it had Hustle. Healed my team and was like, "let's just do one more pass through, just to see". Got a 2nd one with Serene Grace. Going to try to get both to Togetic and then bred for the nature and ability.

i've spent probably close to half my logged hours in the underground by this point in time.. didn't even realize the houndoom, lickitung, magnemite and swablu i got down there were even rare spawns! 😅 thank you for churning out all these info videos, things have def changed since gen 4 and these have helped a TON!

The one thing ab BDSP that frustrated me is really still the whole pre-second gym situation. Heck even all the way into the game I'm almost at gym 8 and I've seen maybe 2-3 catchable fire types (Diamond) this entire time. You would think they could just throw a growlithe on one route (or underground) throw in maybe Cyndaquil early game underground to both do that "2 started wow!" thing they've been doing as well as to show off before Legends Arceus. I can't think of more atm but you get my sentiment.

About catch rate in Grand Underground: I'm pretty sure it's a lot more difficult if your pokemon's level is lower than the opponent.

The grand underground is alot of fun. Whenever I start another playthrough I'm going to run around the underground a ton between gyms. Atm I'm actually breeding my favorite Pokemon by catching them in the underground breeding em and leveling them up that way to get the moves I want from the evolution tree (they're all level 60 so....yeah....)

for the catching mechanics i figured out, that if u have a pokemon that is a higher level than the wild, it is easier, and if u the same or at least lower level it feels almost impossible and not worth it

If you grab a scyther from the underground that has wing attack he can easily solo the grass gym. Only had to hit the last pokemon twice.

After hours in the grand underground, I can tell you Elekid and many other Pokémon are not subject to one specific biome. I’ve seen Elekid in ground, rocky biomes, plain, even fire caves

Ever since I went underground thanks to getting the equipment, I caught myself a lvl18 Scyther and no joke, he helped me one shot every single gym since. Scyther wing attack is so overpowered it's not even funny! He's 50 now and helping me catch the legendaries.

It is very frustrating how hard all of them are to catch at the beginning! It is nice though to pretty much have a full team before the 2nd gym. Also elekid can also be found in the whiteout cave, but you do unlock that later.

I found a Swinub my first time in the swamp biome & I brought it with me for the second gym battle, didn't do as bad as you'd think it did, he took out both Gardenia's Cherubi & Turtwig. I was accidentally synchronizing impish, I put my Kadabra in the lead because I needed it to flee from wild Pokemon & it was synchronizing impish so that's what a bunch of Pokemon I caught in the Grand Underground wound up with & it took me a minute to realize what was going on. I then switched it out & just ended up fighting instead of fleeing because all of my Pokemon at the time were slow. By the way, I only caught the Abra just so I could have access to teleport, I was unfortunate to get one with synchronize but it's fine, at least having that in post game might come in handy if I ever want to find a wild impish Pokemon to breed. I have to say, synchronize works so much better here than it did in gen 6, gen 6, I'm telling you did not work at all. Was trying to synchronize jolly for my shiny Dratini hunt & I phased 11 times, only 1 thing was jolly & it sadly was not my shiny Dratini, I forget the nature it ended up with but it was an attack lowering nature which made me frustrated. You're not dealing with that here thankfully, just be mindful of your lead party member when looking for Pokemon in the Grand Underground.
